Travelodge Reading M4 Westbound

Wasn't impressed to receive text whilst abroad to say if we checked in late our room could be let. We were flying back and couldn't guarantee getting there at 3 pm. Had to get family member to call to explain. There are 2 Travelodges, one each side of the motorway. We booked the westbound one. Both have the same postcode. Our satnav only recognised Eastbound side. Result was they couldn't find our reservation. Apparently this happens a lot. Staff redirected us so only a few minutes and a few miles delay. Our arrival delayed by difficulty at Heathrow,ie Terminal change and over an hour and a half hours delay before passengers could access luggage reclaim. Staff shortages. Arrived at nearly midnight. Only Costa open at services. However, staff at hotel helpful. Situation good and quiet despite proximity to M4. We were very pleasantly surprised. Room clean and plenty of space, bed comfortable, coffee-making facility welcome. Bathroom fine and water hot. Slept really well and plenty of choice for breakfast with services placed only a few yards away but not causing any noise problem at the hotel. Enjoyable stay. Pity about postcode confusion Maybe explanation to take westbound services turnoff given on website when booking would avoid confusion and save people being taken to the eastbound site. We were worried when satnav told us to pass westbound services but assumed hotel was approached by another turnoff shortly after. It would have made our arrival far less fraught to have been aware of the fact there were Travelodges BOTH sides of motorway. The hotel itself was good and gave us a comfortable night.

We stayed at Travelodge Reading M4 Westbound for 3 nights and were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was, despite its location right off the motorway. The room was clean, comfortable, and ideal for a short break. What made it especially convenient was the range of shops and food options just outside—Costa Coffee, Greggs, M&S, WHSmith—all perfect for grabbing a quick bite or essentials without needing to drive anywhere. Great value and a very practical stopover. We’d happily stay again! We didn’t have much interaction with the team during our stay, as everything went smoothly. We did need to shorten our visit, and we’re hopeful the refund process will be straightforward.

Incredible stay. From the minute I arrived to the moment I checked out was made to feel so welcome it was like home from home. Ranjiv is great always smiling and friendly great service provided from him. Loved my stay and would definitely stay again thank you

Absolutely loved my stay.the staff was incredibly friendly especially Ami, the room was spotless and the bed was super comfy.will definitely come back ...we will definitely come back.overall a pleasent and enjoyable visit .The staff were very welcoming,attentive and always ready to help with anything I needed

The walls were thin so I could hear people up & down the corridor and in their rooms. This then made me concious the whole stay that I was talking to loud or my tv was loud. We only had one pillow and they were really thin/low quality so it wasnt the most comfortable sleep and Im a young adult so I wouldnt recommend for anyone with back problems etc. The room has a strange smell- a bit like cat pee but I cant guarantee thats what it was so I spent the night burying my head into my neck to smell my perfume so I could go to sleep. The Location is great though and it was super easy to check in so as far as budget hotels go- it was decent but just dont expect a perfect nights sleep or an above average stay- it is a low budget/low rated hotel for a reason.

Very nice and peaceful Travelodge. The staff are really friendly and helpful too. Especially Ami and Sumi who helped me with a few specific requests that made my stay more comfortable. Will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!!!
