Kadus Grand Hotel

This hotel is over 50 years old; it is big and built like a small palace. It must have been a grand place in its days. It is still remarkable but probably needs refurbishing. The lobby has a grand entrance, it is good sized with many sofas for relaxing there is a central double spiral stair leading to two sides of the first floor. It has four floors. The rooms are carpeted and of good size, the furniture is old and but still good. There is a long counter for storage, a two-door cupboard and some draws. There is a small writing desk with a stool chair, there is also a sofa chair with a table. Lighting in the room is sufficient, there are many power sockets in all the right places. There is no safe box in the room, the hotel can provide one. The bathroom is medium sized, the shower area is separated by a curtain. There are sufficient toiletries and the water pressure is good. In late April, it was still cold and the heating in the rooms was not switched on yet, but the hotel can provide a small heater upon request and depending on availability. Breakfast hall is on the first floor, breakfast buffet is modest, but still sufficient. There are two small lifts. The WIFI is good while connected, it works only in the rooms, other areas have different access codes. The TV channels are all in local language. There are two restaurants in the hotel grounds, and one in the lobby. The swimming pool is outdoor and is closed in winter and rainy season. There is a big parking area in the hotel grounds. The location is good, it is away from the city center, the road in front of the hotel is long and has many shops and cafes, a good place to take a stroll. The hotel is worth staying in.

Un buon hotel fuori dal centro di Rasht. Camere nella norma, personale gentile che parla inglese, organizzano escursioni in poco tempo per Masuleh. Ottima la scelta nei ristoranti al piano terra, frequentati anche dalla gente del posto.

Ormai anche la Lonely Planet sta perdendo colpi e quando scrive che questo albergo è lussuoso o non ha mai inviato qualcuno per verificare di persona la cosa o quel qualcuno ha preso un’indigestione di caviale iraniano e non ha capito dove stava dormendo. Iniziano col dire che questo hotel non è un 5 stelle ma neppure un 4 e neanche un 3 stelle. Si avvicina ad un 2 ma con molte mancanze. Le camere sono piccole, vecchie e poco curate. Il bagno invece.., è purtroppo come la camera. Non vi fate illudere dall’esterno sopratutto di notte. Le luci della sera vi faranno sembrare lussuoso quello che è semplicemente un casermone kitsch con delle camere da caserma. Prezzo basso e quindi, almeno in questo, adeguato al livello della struttura. Il personale è gentile ma questo è quasi scontato in un paese come l’Iran dove il suo popolo è la cosa più bella. La domanda poi più importante è…. Ma c’è di meglio a Rasht? Purtroppo per me e per voi, credo proprio di no per cui se dovrete soggiornare in questa città, non vi rimane che adeguarvi e soggiornare in questo pessimo albergo.
