Small, charming, lovely. and accessible. Small hotel with bungalows around a garden. Lovely dining area with a view of the ocean and lovely sunsets every night. I am a wheelchair user - there were concrete pathways throughout the garden, to the bungalow, to the restaurant. Incredibly courteous and warm staff. The atoll is quiet, so come to relax and enjoy the views and lagoon excursions.

This was a very good experience. We had come from their sister hotel in Huahine and the difference was very clear. Whilst the management of the Maitai in Huahine has obviously ignored several years of reviews with the same complaints, the Maitai in Rangiroa has listened. The reception staff were excellent and attentive and the ladies even offered to help with baggage. The food was excellent and the hotel was clean and bright. The rooms are looking a bit tired now - and probably need some updating. But overall we had a lovely stay!

This tiny little resort is very basic at best. Air conditioning worked at half power despite the staff trying to fix it. Phone did not work at all to call front desk or out. Internet was nonexistent even when you got close to the main signal. No beach, stairs to the water but very rocky or a metal ladder of the pier. Everyone leaves by 8:15 am for a tour otherwise there is nothing to do. From all the islands we visited (5) this was the most basic of food despite a good looking menu. Lamb was tough, muscles were chewy….only nice part was the staff.

This resort isn’t for anyone please do your own research because I didn’t do it and it cost me losing time and money the bungalow isn’t what they said in their site the condition isn’t good you will have mosquitoes inside the bungalow during the day and the night because the front door big gaps allows the mosquitoes to get inside the bungalow during during the day and night.The room has A/C but isn’t cooling the room so I have to ask for fan to help cool the room.when I emailed the resort about if we can Snorkel at the bungalow they said yes so we was happy about that but when we got here I found out there is no way anyone can snorkel here but you can hire someone to take you snorkel somewhere else.

Highly recommend the Maitai Rangiroa. We had also stayed at the Maitai in Bora Bora 2 years ago and found that a great option also that didn’t cost a small fortune. We were welcomed with a tropical Juice and a lovely lei while we checked in. The grounds are lovely and very well kept. The pool and its surroundings including the bar are beautiful. The room was clean and a good size. We had the 1st 2 nights in a garden bungalow and then the last 2 nights in a waterfront bungalow which was lovely having the view and a little more privacy. We had breakfast included. It’s nothing fancy but great to start the day with as much as you can eat. All the stuff were very friendly and helpful at reception. Most of the restaurant staff were great too. Good location right in the middle of the island with some nice snorkeling out the front and Kayaks to use as you wish. Bikes were available to use too. We used them most nights to bike down to the pass for a sunset drink and to watch the dolphins. Would stay here again if we come back to Rangiroa.

Sehr schöne Anlage mit Südsee-Feeling! Unbedingt Strandbungalow zu empfehlen, schön geräumig mit Blick auf den besten Sonnenuntergang der Welt. Separates WC, freie Dusche. Zwar kein Sandstrand, dafür hervorragendes Riff direkt vor der Haustür - Einstieg über den Steg oder eine kleine Korallenbucht. Entschädigt total. Mega freundliches Personal, Essen hervorragend! Klasse infinity Pool zum Verweilen. Ausflüge können bequem bis 19.00 Uhr am Vortag gebucht werden, lohnen sich uneingeschränkt. Beide Pässe easy mit dem Fahrrad zu erreichen. Würde definitiv wieder kommen!!

Stayed in Rangiroa prior to catching Windstar cruise in Tahiti (separate review). After flying from US, caught inter-island flight of 50 minutes. Hotel Maitai is a short ride from airport. Much better than a two star, but not a four star either. If you’re looking for plush resort, you’ll need to pick a different island. Rangiroa is quaint tropical island with great snorkeling and scenery. Check out snorkeling location called the “Aquarium”. And make sure to visit Blue Lagoon with its pink sand beach. Bungalows are more than adequate, even better than I expected. Showers had plenty of hot water and air conditioning kept room cool. One knock: WiFi was spotty and slow, so used my ATT International plan to access Internet. Breakfast was included for us. Was fine, nothing special. Lunch and dinner were decent too, but not luxury (I didn’t expect it to be). Food and drinks were pricey…but it is a remote atoll. Would recommend staying here. Loved the relaxed island atmosphere and beautiful water views. Just don’t expect a high-end resort.

Malgré un spot agréable et des bungalows spacieux, tout le reste est déplorable. la wi-fi est inexistante. Pratiquement tous les jours dès 7h30 il n’y a plus d’œufs au petit déjeuner. Le soir il n’y a plus de bière au bar. Sur la terrasse du bar le cendrier que nous avions utilisé le soir a été débarrassé le lendemain à 17h. Des cheveux collés dans ma salle de bain depuis six jours. À la piscine, il faut retourner à la réception pour obtenir une serviette de bain.

Bel établissement très bien situé, bungalows spacieux, belle piscine, on voit que les investissements de départ ont dû être importants. Par contre: Cuisine correcte mais service affreusement lent, 4 matins de suite ou il n y a plus d'oeufs à 7h30 pour le breakfast, panne de bière au bar, personnel souriant mais endormi, internet fonctionne très mal dans les chambres, les linges pour la piscine sont disponibles mais pas sur place mais à la reception
