Sunshine View Hotel and Restaurant

been going to the sunshine for a few years , not the hotel but restaurant , great location , good choice of food , food always been good and consistent , had good service , till this year waitering quality, as gone down hill , some thing changed , poor training or poor trainer , hope they can turn the service around

We spent 6 days here. The location was great with two good restaurants next door. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the fantastic view. We especially enjoyed the breakfast in the restaurant. Free coffee was provided in the morning. The menu is extensive and the serving size is generous. Two bottles of water is provided daily but you can ask for more. I plan to stay here again

The outside is the best of this hotel; very cute and grounds are well maintained. A barebones room with oversized chair and loveseat which really does not fit well and looks to be an afterthought. Really no style...but it is clean and the king-sized bed was comfortable. I would have liked to have had two more pillows. The bathroom was good space with a great shower (size and water pressure great). The pool is only really for wading, not swimming laps and the pool deck is very slippery. The "beach" is behind the sea wall, but there are steps to get down to the water, however the last two are extremely slippery so don't try it alone. The restaurant have an extensive menu, Chinese and Local/American items; however we found the food bland, unless you like to dump hot sauce on what ever. The carry-out pizza was reported to be pretty good. When seated, our party of nine was never served together; by the time the last person was served, the first was finished. The bright spot were the bar drinks; best Pina Colada I've ever had, and all fruity drinks were made with fresh fruit and were not overly sweet. The final touch was when the waitress and cashier simply could not figure out how to close out our check. Disappointing.

This hotel stay frustrated me. The pillows were too big, the duvet cover was worn thin to the point of holes in it. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean but the low watt lights in bathroom were too low to apply makeup properly. Tacky covid hand washing signs were still in the rooms and by the pool. The pool had algae on the walls and there were no pool towels offered. Food at the restaurant was excellent, but they ran out of tea. There was no one swimming in the bay, so I ventured out, and the sand is silty which I sunk a few inches in, then almost injured myself exiting the water on the cement stairs covered in deceiving slippery slime . Thank fully the air conditioning worked well and there was complimentary bottled water in the room, but no guest safe. Good proximity to airport and car rental was a plus. I sent a note to the hotel owner, so hopefully he can fix a few things soon.
