We stayed for a couple of nights at the gorgeous bungalow. The staff were very kind and helpful. The food was delicious and our room, the family suite was incredibly comfortable with every thing you could need. The gardens are beautiful such a lovely setting.

We stayed here 3 nights over the Sri Lankan new year period and I have to say it was one of the most enjoyable stays we’ve experienced. The staff organised a small festival for us. Our butler Chanuka looked into every need ensuring we had a stress free pleasant holiday. The staff at the bungalow truly went all out to ensure we had the most relaxed holiday. We traveled in a group of 11 with 4 kids. Will definitely visit again. The heated jacuzzi was one of the highlights.

Where in the world can you have dinner between a fireplace and a pool illuminated by candles? Kapila and the whole team made our stay an unforgettable experience. They were so kind and helpful, making our stay as pleasant as possible. The food was excellent, be it European style or Sri Lankan style with lots of vegetables and herbs coming from the own garden. Having breakfast and teatime with a view to the wonderful garden and nature around was very special. We enjoyed relaxing in the heated jacuzzi or the refreshing pool after a complimentary walk through the tea plantation. Not to forget mentioning the wonderfully decorated house with multiple fireplaces and antique furniture and the lovely garden around it. Thank you so much for an extraordinary experience we will never forget, and thanks to the owner for maintaining this beautiful place and opening it to guests. We will try to come back and stay longer. Hope to see you again!

It is real hidden gem of a place! From welcome, service, facilities, food and room, it has all been perfect! The staff are all so friendly and made us feel very welcome. It is a it of a journey to get here but well worth it! Sad that we are only spending one night here but it has left an incredible souvenir!

Can’t find the words to describe this incredible plantation property. The location, gardens, amenities, pool etc are fantastic, not to mention the history. The staff are wonderful, always smiling & nothing is too much trouble. They all go above & beyond to make sure you have the best experience, special mention to our butler Chanu who looked after our ever need & even took us on a walk through the plantation. The room we had was luxurious, with our own private garden, including a pond! Then there were the delicious breakfasts, afternoon teas & dinners, served on the lawn or by the garden. On chilly nights a fire is lit. I cannot recommend Stratford Bungalow enough, come, you will not be disappointed.

An excellent location to explore the area from and to also crash out at too. All the staff are so friendly and the service they provide is first class. Whilst here do not miss the bird spotting tour run by Chanu (the Head Butler) who can spot a bird at 50 paces without the aid of binoculars.

This was an absolute gem, quiet idyllic location in tea plantations. The staff were amazing, we did an in house cookery class, the food was exceptional. Definitely recommend for a stay away from bustling Nuwara Eliya. It’s worth the 45 min drive.

Very pretty and comfortable place in a calm oases of tea plantations. It gets cold at night and heating is sparse - though they provided hot water bottles and an extra stand alone heater for our room when mentioned. The WiFi is also patchy. Wonderful head butler, Chanu, made the place for us - he couldn't have been more helpful and gave a great bird walk tour. Don't miss the tea plantation one, too. The meals were average compared to similar properties but mostly edible.
