Borgo Castelvecchi

We live in the United States and had a destination wedding at Borgo Castelvecchi in September 2022, and it was absolutely amazing as a wedding venue that we highly recommend! All of our friends still talk about what an incredibly fun atmosphere it was. We loved our experience here and wouldn’t have changed anything. It’s a great option for couples coming from America who want to give their guests an unforgettable and authentic Tuscan wedding experience, and we found it to be an incredible value relative to what we see in the United States. The property is huge with ample space to craft your own wedding experience, and the fact that so many guests can stay onsite and enjoy a full weekend with you made the destination wedding experience extremely special and unique. We had an 80-person wedding and the venue was perfect for that size. All of our close friends (~65 people) stayed in the hotel rooms on the property and loved their accommodations as each room is charmingly Tuscan and completely unique. There was a great mix of individual rooms and apartment-style rooms, and having all of our friends onsite with us made for a truly special weekend where all of our best friends got to spend so much quality time together and with us. Our family members stayed in Radda, the small town a ~10 minute drive from the venue which they absolutely loved. And it was easy to arrange shuttle transportation for guests staying offsite to and from the venue through the team at Castelvecchi. The property itself is beautiful, located on top of a hill with panoramic views of the stunning Tuscan countryside making for a beautiful scene when guests arrived. All of our guests said it was a breathtaking drive, were immediately charmed with the venue, and were able to quickly get settled upon arrival and head to the beautiful pool/garden area to relax after checking in. We held our welcome party in the main square which was the perfect place for a casual and free-flowing welcome event that helped everyone ease into the wedding weekend. The following day, we held our ceremony in front of the 17th century villa which was an incredible backdrop to get the wedding started, followed by an aperitif in the main borgo square. Our dinner was held under the portico attached to the villa with two long tables that sat our 80 guests, followed by dancing under the portico and a late night party in the room attached to the portico. Each location was perfectly suited for each stage of the wedding. The Castelvecchi staff were incredible! It rained all morning the day of our wedding and they worked seamlessly with our planner to adjust plans in real time to ensure we had contingencies in place should the rain continue. It rained long enough that we had to shift to some of our backup plans, but they were able to keep everything outside regardless and once the rain stopped helped ensure that everything came together beautifully. Poca professionalità nella gestione delle prenotazioni con Smartbox. Ho effettuato mesi fa una prenotazione per il mese di luglio per un weekend presso questa struttura. Tuttavia, a pochi giorni dalla prenotazione sono risultato positivo al covid e ho subito scritto alla struttura per spostare la data poiché dal sito Smartbox ormai era troppo tardi. Mi è stato risposto che avrebbero fatto un'eccezione dandomi la possibilità di usufruire del voucher a patto che la nuova data fosse fissata entro la chiusura annuale, a ottobre 2023, cosa che ho davvero apprezzato. Poi hanno cominciato a proporsi i primi problemi: le prime date da me ipotizzate proprio nel mese di ottobre (quindi con 3 mesi di anticipo) sono state tutte rigettate, al che finalmente si trova una possibile data a settembre. A quel punto smetto di ricevere risposta e quindi la data non mi viene mai confermata. Riscrivo ancora il mese successivo e ancora quello seguente. Nulla. Intanto però ho contattato Smartbox che mi conferma che loro i soldi della prenotazione se li sono intascati. E sono anche sicuro che la data originaria di luglio non hanno avuto problemi a trovare una nuova prenotazione anche a pochi giorni dalla cancellazione, dato che siamo in alta stagione, quindi la mia cancellazione non avrà creato tanti problemi. A questo punto avrei preferito che mi avessero detto fin dall'inizio che non era possibile trovare una nuova data piuttosto che questo circo. Scegliete un'altra struttura se prenotate con Smartbox

Abbiamo dormito una sola notte come tappa intermedia verso un’altra destinazione. La camera era sporca e caldissima ,”rinfrescata” da un vecchio ventilatore che faceva un rumore assordante ,il frigo bar era costituito da un piccolo frigorifero vuoto dell’anteguerra che emetteva un sibilo continuo e insopportabile . Il bagno non pulito aveva una cabina doccia sporca e chiusa da una porta in plastica mezza sgangherata. Non abbiamo chiuso occhio per il caldo allucinante e i rumori . Esperienza da dimenticare!!

Siamo stati in questo posto che è a tutti gli effetti un piccolo borgo molto caratteristico nel Chianti. Stanza abbastanza grande ma molto classica, mancanza di condizionatore e presenza di un ventilatore. Bagno spazioso. Presenza di mini frigo. Piscina abbastanza grande, con lettini e sedie a sdraio, nel verde. Personale disponibile e gentile. Presenza di parcheggio privato all’aperto. Colazione sia salata che dolce, con macchina del caffè, yogurt, pane, marmellate ecc. Per cenare nel ristorante assicuratevi di prenotare, altrimenti ci sono dei tavoli liberi dove poter gustare un buon tagliere accompagnato da un bicchiere di vino Contro: essendo un piccolo borgo è lontano dal centro con strade non favorevoli alla guida notturna.

Borgo immerso in colline meravigliose, esterno splendido ristornate molto buono e personale accogliente soprattutto le ragazze del bar e ristorante. La piscina molto bella e comoda.Nota negativa: la stanza sporca e con mobili vecchi e rotti.bagno sporco e completamente da rifare!
