Please ignore the bad reviews and give this hotel a go . Some of the negative reviews made us a bit nervous but our concerns were quickly put aside . The rooms are great with a fantastic shower and comfy beds which were cleaned to a really good standard. Optics in the rooms with a good fridge , we were on the 1st floor and yes we did encounter a cockroach or two but nothing to make us worry. The food here is far better than average and I can be really fussy , it’s all good even the snack bar by the beach / pool area was way better than any snack bar with a wide choice . What I liked the most both the African restaurant and the snack restaurant were kept exceptionally clean and organised and all the waiting on staff were great and really helpful. Can’t ignore the downside though as the sports bar which serves snacks , burgers , chicken burgers and hotdogs, with salad and cheese and ham in the fridge left a lot to be desired, stale bread which seems to have been there forever heating the food not adequate at all , this is where stomach bugs can come from , yes we did complain to the TUI rep and the reception but nothing changed in the 2 weeks we were there so it really lets the catering side down badly. The entertainment staff work so hard and always have a smile and chat, we had an 11 year old with us and we would love for him to have had a bit more to do as it doesn’t seem to include the older kids much . but he was encouraged to join in with the pool activities. Thankyou Junior and Kevin . The pool bar staff were great fun , really helpful nothing too much trouble and cocktails made fresh to order . I’ve seen comments about watered down drinks ? We certainly did not find that and there were 4 of us . Linda in the sports bar looked after us really well , though the waiter service in the evening entertainment could be really hit and miss with drinks not as ordered. The pools are lovely lots of sun beds and being able to look at the beach whilst sitting at the pool was great. All in all a fabulous time was had by us and will certainly return BUT PLEASE sort out the food in the sports bar .

I loved our recent trip to the RIU palace Boa Vista, the hotel and grounds were fantastic as were the staff and food provided. Couldn’t ask for more!

We have been to other RIU palace hotels and never had any issues. We are a family of 5, 4 adults and an 11 year old on a 14 day holiday. Prior to arriving there were concerns with some of the reviews that we had read, The short bus journey (5 minutes) from the airport was great and the quick and easy check in was an added bonus. We stayed in a family room 0117 which bright and clean. There was never an issue with the fridge and optics being replenished. The pools are lovely with plenty of sun beds whatever time you go, but the sunbeds aren’t the most comfiest. The pool bar staff are lovely, friendly and hilarious 😆 Seremendo, Lady Gaga, Aislan and Hugo are great and within a day they will know how you like your drinks. The daytime/pool entertainment team are brilliant especially Keven and Junior. They had us in hysterics, especially by our 11 year old. The evening entertainment is not the best but take it for what it is, we spent most of the evenings just laughing 😆 There is hardly any entertainment for the kids that are older than 8 but are not adults. Now for the food/restaurants, I can honestly say it is lovely. The food in the steakhouse is really good, the ambiance is ok but not great. We also ate at the Krystal restaurant the food is nice but the ambiance is really nice. The Africa restaurant is great at any time of the day, where you can sit outside or inside with air con (this is a quiet restaurant inside). This is the first holiday we have all said we didn’t want to go home and will be returning. Linda who worked in the sports bar is not just hardworking but hilarious and had us all laughing at her dancing with the tray on her head. There is only one downside to this hotel that is the food in the sports bar. It’s awful. The food is left out for a long time and we never saw anyone checking the temperatures. One evening my mother-in-law went to get a sausage for the cats and everything was cold, all the hot plates were switched off( sausages and burgers), she told the guy behind the bar who went to turn all the hot plates back on. This could be a health and hygiene issue. We also informed reception, who said you’re not the first to complain) and the TUI rep. The bread you could through against the wall they were that hard. With the exception of the sports bar food , this hotel is wonderful in every area. We will be back.

Second time at the hotel and things have changed since November 24. Firstly the positives-the hotel and food was lovely, room was cleaned everyday and the pools were so clean and refreshing. Bar staff absolutely amazing both day and evening time. Negatives- vaping and smoking around all the 3 pools areas and smoking just outside the entrance of the Africa restaurant let this hotel down big time. Was sick of the smell of vapes and smoke everywhere we went felt like we could not get away from it, half the holiday we ended up on the beach or getting a taxi to other bars in the day ( btw beaches are beautiful). Smoking should not be allowed around the pool areas in my opinion. We found some of the reception staff quite miserable and unhelpful (except for one guy who helped us with the WiFi ), we felt that we were being a nuisance at one point when enquiring about the booked upgraded 2 night stay at a villa which was €100 a night extra, so ended up cancelling. The staff do work hard here and the hotel is spotless, we will miss quite a few of them but sadly not all.

Nous avions déjà occupés cet hôtel en février 2018 alors qu il venait d être construit. De retour en 2025 ( et encore sur place à l heure d écrire ces lignes chambre 1141) nous ne sommes pas déçus. L hôtel a gardé sa qualité que ce soit au niveau de la nourriture, de la propreté ou des repas. Le personnel est souriant et attentionné ( mention spécial e à Delly) le service très bon et les chambres propres. Si on devait trouver des choses négatives je dirais que les jus de fruits le matin sont coupés à l eau ce qui est dommage… et que dans beaucoup de plats il y a des poivrons( pour celui qui n aime pas c est plus compliqué). Pour le reste boissons servies à la canette ou bouteille le midi et soir dans le restaurant principal et il y fait très calme! Il faut maintenant maintenir l état des chambres et ne pas hésiter à renouveler certains éléments! En 2025, à l heure d écrire ces lignes le Riu Palace reste une valeur sûre et incontournable à Boa Vista.
