Hotel New Horizons

DONT BE FOOLED BY THE GOOD LOOKING RECEPTION/FRONT OFFICE AREA of this hotel. We stayed from 15th July to 19th July 2022 and this is suppose to be off season here because of monsoon. We paid ₹4200/- per night ( me and my parents in one room) no extra mattress taken. Pros of the hotel : Location is very good. Sea facing and just in the main area of Swargadwar. Cons of the hotel : If you compare the room rates here, it’s pretty high but services are not Upto the mark. No restaurant or In-room dining available. Dirty linens, dirty cups, have to ask 10 times for room cleaning. They provide small soaps in the room which can only be given once in two days ( don’t know how to justify this, as per them soaps are not needed that much) No shower gel or conditioner or dental kit Shampoo and body lotion are given after requesting multiple times ( if you don’t bother to ask them you don’t get it) Tea bags are given one tea bags per person ( so three people gets three tea bags) 🤣 And refill only once a day Now coming to the most important When we went to check out at 12 PM which is standard across the globe, we were told we had to pay extra for one more day as only here in PURI, checkout time is 7 AM ( I have traveled 26 countries and never found any such rules, and Incase it exists it should be verbally informed while booking or checking in) So we were forced to pay another ₹ 3500/- extra for no reason when we went to check out at standard time of 12 PM across the globe. They stated it was mentioned in the bill that we gave on day one, which I never noticed. Be very careful of such malpractices in hotels. If I pay for 24 hrs then I should get 24 hrs time in hotel ,understandable that people asks for 12PM check out for cleaning so that the next guests gets it on time but 7AM is ridiculous. There is no flight or trains departing that early from Bhubaneswar or Puri. Not recommend to book this hotel at such high rates and be cheated.
