Kalani Hawaii Private Lodging

This was a great value homestay. The host we talked with the most, Bernie, was super friendly and helpful. He answered every question and guided us throughout. The facilities were all spotless, the rooms were comfy, and the property amenities were top notch. Best of all, the location! It felt far enough away but at the same time close to all sites, shops and beaches. One of the best homestay-guesthouses I’ve ever experienced….highly recommended!

For the money, you don't get much better value than staying at Kalani. Everything was spotless and clean. The atmosphere was very relaxing and friendly. The location is awesome (remote, yet close to everything you needed). The garden was like a slice of paradise (there's even a great spot to catch a small glimpse of the sunset in the distance). And finally, the staff, especially Bernie, was accommodating, helpful, and friendly...he's great to pick his brain for suggestions for north shore activities (ie best beaches to go to at certain times). I would definitely recommend this homestay to friends and family and would absolutely go back again. Every morning we looked forward to beach time, hikes or shopping nearby...every evening we looked forward to relaxing with a cold drink on the patio deck.

Such an awesome place to stay if you are a little more adventurous and willing to ditch the big corporate hotels that control lodging on the island. Super clean, comfortable and quiet. Lots of outdoor space to hang out and enjoy a beverage. Easy drive to nearby food trucks for dining or groceries if you want to make some quick meals. Short walk to the beach or easy drive to many beaches. It’s such a chill and relaxing place to stay. I highly recommend and hope to het back there soon.

Premetto che un pallino è anche troppo e che se avessi potuto avrei dato ZERO! Ho prenotato qui con il sito *********** una stanza per due notti con il bagno in comune pur essendo molto al di sotto dei nostri standard SOLO perchè al momento della prenotazione il ceckin era previsto dalle 12.00 alle 22.00 e noi avevamo bisogno di un ceck in anticipato e sicuro. Dopo aver accettato la mia prenotazione e avermi prelevato una parte dei soldi (circa 90 $) mi arriva un messaggio in cui c'è scritto che il ceck in è dalle ore 16.00 in poi!!!!! Da notare che sulla prenotazione compariva come orario 12.00! Molto arrabbiata chiedo ai proprietari perchè non è scritto chiaramente che il ceck in è alle 16.00 dato che se lo avessi saputo subito non avrei mai prenotato da loro. Questi fanno finta di nulla però viste le mie insistenze nel dire che non erano stati onesti, il 22 Gennaio mi rispondono che posso cancellare comunque la prenotazione attraverso booking (che sarebbe stata non cancellabile) cosa che ho puntualmente fatto. "Do not worry! We will be happy to cancel you reservation with no charge!" è quello che mi viene scritto. Peccato che in data odierna io non abbia ancora ricevuto nessun rimborso e nessuna comunicazione di rimborso da parte loro! Ovviamente tutto questo è documentato dai messaggi che ci siamo scambiati con questi! NO COMMENT! Ah nel frattempo ho constato che la stanza è stata affittata anche ad un prezzo più alto per cui la mia cancellazione non ha portato loro nessun minor guadagno! Nemmeno booking, avvisato, ha mosso un dito!
