Iberostar Selection Playa Mita

We had a great family vacation! Emmanuel & Vicente took excellent care of us on our beach days. Highly recommend Iberostar Playa Mita.

We stayed at this “5-star resort” to celebrate our anniversary, and unfortunately, it was far from the experience we expected. When we arrived, they gave us a room with twin beds, even though we had clearly requested a different setup for our anniversary. They agreed to move us, but it took over 3 hours for the new room to be ready. When we finally got in, the room didn’t feel clean — there were still drink stains left on the table from the previous guests. On our 3rd day, things got even worse. We came back from the pool to shower and get ready for dinner, only to find out our room had no running water at all. After a long day in the pool, we couldn’t shower or get ready. The water didn’t come back on until 10am the next morning, which completely threw off our plans. It was also clear the resort is severely understaffed. By the pool, it took around 30 minutes just to get a drink each time. It wasn’t until our 5th day that we finally received good service from Yesenia, who really listened to our concerns and took great care of us. Adrian, the bartender by the pool, was also fantastic and consistently got drinks out quickly — they were the bright spots in our stay. To top it off, on the day we were leaving, while waiting for our transportation, my husband went inside to grab a coffee and was told we couldn’t order anything because we were “no longer guests.” We chose this resort because we’ve stayed at other Iberostar locations and always had great experiences. Sadly, this stay was extremely disappointing, especially since we were there to celebrate such a special occasion. We expected better quality, service, and basic hospitality from a place that claims to be 5-star.

This is an incredible property at a great location! The pools, rooms, terrace, restaurants and cafe, and the lobby area are well maintained and pleasing. Of course, the beach is extremely beautiful and the beach chairs/umbrellas allowed us to enjoy the waves. We enjoyed the Kupuri show, circus, and the pool games and entertainment activities. The resort in general is clean and maintained very well. But the best part of our stay was the service and hospitality of the staff. They anticipate your needs and attend with efficiency and a smile. The housekeeping staff at the rooms, pools, beach, restaurants, gardens and the overall property work very hard to keep the place impeccable. Specifically, want to call out - Chefs Estefania, Hugo, and Alejandra for preparing delicious vegetarian meals for us - was very kind of them! Christian from the buffet restaurant was also very attentive and helpful. Staff at Star camp - Ana, Aranza, Martin, and others ensured a great time for our child with safe and engaging activities. Jonathan from Concierge answered a lot of our questions and was super helpful. A couple of watch outs were that the washrooms had an obnoxious odour in the mornings (housekeeping addressed it promptly, but the issue persisted) and the elevator (ocean front tower) was not working for the duration of our stay.

We just had our 25th wedding anniversary with family and friends 52 people 20 rooms and I couldn’t be happier specially with Adriana wedding coordinator and her team they were so professional friendly and on top of every detail, totally recommend them for your wedding or any big event. Loved loved the wedding venue with sunset and beach ️ ceremony. Gracias Adriana por ayudarnos a realizar nuestro sueño

As members of The Club, we’ve had the opportunity to stay at several Iberostar hotels, but this experience has truly exceeded all of our expectations thanks to the outstanding level of service we received. We would like to especially highlight Chef Javier, who went above and beyond to personalize several of our meals and made sure we were always satisfied with the options. He even prepared my son’s special breakfast routine (something that is not usually offered) as well as a customized lunch menu. This kind of attention is what truly gives the membership exceptional value. The Prestige service was outstanding. Ana, Emmanuel, and the manager Stephannie made sure that everything we requested for our baby was ready in the room. It was quite a long list, and in most hotels, there’s always something missing — but here, everything was exactly as requested. Emmanuel always goes above and beyond. For instance, when one of our suitcases broke a wheel, he personally took care of fixing it right away. Likewise, when we had to change rooms, Stephannie quickly managed the authorization, and Miguel helped us move our belongings with great care and willingness. At the restaurant El Cuate Pancho, our waiter Víctor provided the best service we’ve ever received — attentive, efficient, and genuinely kind. If you visit this restaurant, I highly recommend asking for his service. In the spa area, the massages by Olga, Luisa, Alma and Mariela were exceptional. I especially recommend booking with them if you’re looking for a truly relaxing experience. Something else we greatly appreciated was that we could reach out to the Prestige team at any time with questions or requests. They were always available to guide us through all the amenities and services that many guests don’t even realize are offered. We also recommend visiting the Star Camp team — even though my son doesn’t yet meet the minimum age, they made every effort to include him in as many activities as possible, which made the experience even more special for our family. In conclusion, thanks to the efforts of the entire team — Chef Javier, Ana, Emmanuel, Stephannie, Miguel, Víctor, and the spa staff — our stay not only exceeded expectations but also reaffirmed the value of our The Club membership. For any need, we recommend reaching out to the Star Prestige staff, as their dedication ensures every guest enjoys an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

The resort is really cute and has a charming Pueblo-style look that makes you feel like you’re somewhere special. The service was good, definitely better than what I’ve experienced at other big all-inclusives, though not super personal. The food was pretty good overall, but the buffet was honestly the best part. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t really showcase the amazing seafood Puerto Vallarta is known for. Entertainment was fun and a nice way to wind down in the evenings. We came as invited guests, and they really pushed us to go to a timeshare presentation with offers like a free massage or a romantic dinner. It was a bit too much at times. I also paid for an upgraded beachfront room, which had great views but was quite a walk from the restaurants and lobby. Since the resort is about an hour from Puerto Vallarta, they bring local vendors on-site, which I thought was a really nice touch. Overall, it’s a beautiful place with solid service and good food, just be ready for a bit of walking and the timeshare pitch.
