Bakour Punta Cana Suites

nothing like the pictures. there’s ongoing constructions which is really loud during the day and you only have access to the buffet. there is no 24/7 room service they lied

Really expensive rate for a poor quality hotel. Staff was really, really nice, but no si-do in the rooms, telephone lines are not connected either. Water cuts are no hot water episodes. Lot of had works during the day outside. Was not easy to chill by the pool when workers are site, working and yelling. Restaurant was good and restaurant’s staff was super nice.

This hotel just opened the last few months, we could not find any reviews and took a chance since it was supposedly a 5 star. We went with an open mind. I would have been happy with the basics. There is only one restaurant that was part of the all inclusive and it was not very good. I would have been ok with it if everything else that happened, didn't happen. There is a Japanese restaurant on the resort but it is not included. The staff are rude and not trained in hospitality at all. The first night, there was music coming from somewhere in the neighborhood- so loud, unbelievable , until well into the night. We woke up in the morning and there was no running water, no flushing toilet, can not wash your hands. The manager was of zero help. We were only there for an extended weekend, and the manager told us that the water may be shut off in the hotel for the entire time. He was not offering anything, not a thing to compensate. We went back to our room, and the staff thought it would be funny to cancel our room cards. We had to find the maid to let us in, and we decided that we could not stay there another minute. We booked elsewhere, and called a taxi. It cost us a small fortune to book another place , but we felt that it was impossible to spend another minute in a hostile location, with no support and no sanitation.

We had a wonderful 7 day stay at Bakour. This was our 2nd visit to this resort but first under the new management of Bakour. The resort is so quiet and peaceful. Our stay was incredibly relaxing. The pool area is gorgeous. It offers plenty of chairs and some poolside cabanas. There is a bar at each end of the pool for drinks. The Oceanside bar has snacks and drinks. The waitress at that bar was fantastic. She is so friendly and attentive. The beach is fantastic and very clean. Plenty of beach chairs and cabanas on the beach. There are a few vendors on the beach. They are very respectful. We enjoyed dinner at the Japanese restaurant one night. It currently isn’t part of the AI plan but we’re told that will change soon. It was an incredibly affordable meal. We had 2 appetizers and 2 entrees for $40. The food there was delicious. Carlos is a super friendly and attentive server there and also bartender during the day. Thanks, Carlos! The buffet was kind of hit or miss. Honestly, this has been my experience at other resorts too. I don’t expect much from the buffets. They do have an omelette station in the mornings, fresh fruit, and great coffee. The staff are amazing! I wish I’d caught everyone’s names. Kayla, Roberto, maria, Jovany, Tomas, “Land Rover”, Carlos. Everyone is so attentive and kind. We will definitely be back.

INTERESTING..... The staff, facility and experience was wonderful. There was some issues with the room which took two days to fix but they were fixed. The hotel website boast of a disco, gym, night entertainment and daily activities. NONE OF WHICH ARE TRUE. Though the main building is beautiful and the staff can offer connections/ contacts for where to find entertainment, the hotel is currently under construction. Also, your sharing the space with local tenants who live or reserved a bnb. There are two restaurants on site. The Japanese one is NOT apart of the inclusive experience. The other serves B-L-D at specified times and closes at 10pm for the day. You can get food from a bar by the pool until 11pm. There are PLENTY of activities to do AT A COST. Overall, the Bakour was nice. Can't wait to see it once it's complete.
