COMFORT INN PV…walking distance from the airport! We started our four-week Puerto Vallarta (PV) vacation tour by departing out the airport front door, and walking 5-minutes to the Comfort Inn PV. It was late and dark but we felt safe as the streets in this area are bustling with people. The Comfort Inn is a good hotel in the $100 night range and I recommend it for short stays. Did you know that upon arriving in the PV airport, and clearing immigration and customs, that you should NOT stop to talk to the dozens of people claiming they are hotel reps and that they want to help you? They are all time-share salespeople who want to separate you from your money! Keep walking until you leave the building! A cab from the airport is about $25US dollars, but if you walk off the property, you can catch a bus for about .60 cents CDN, or an Uber or Cab for under $10 bucks Canadian. And before leaving the airport property, there is an OXXO (A ubiquitous Mexican corner store) outside the front door, where we stocked up on drinks, room snacks, and of course cerveza. Our hotel check-in was quick. We upgraded to a King Room and everything was clean and in working order. The bed was a new pillow-top with quality sheets and duvet, and it was heavenly. The only thing missing in the room is a mini-fridge, and you’d have to book a Suite to get that. On the 1st day of our 2-day stay at the Comfort Inn, we exchanged money right beside the hotel, and there’s also a Scotia Bank, liquor store and a McDonalds if required. Plus, an excellent outdoor taco restaurant called “LOS MOLEAJETES” that’s open late and serves great food. In the afternoon we toured the Marina and Golf Club areas, and returned to enjoy the cold swimming pool and lounge area. Both days we had the FREE buffet breakfast which consisted of only 3-items (beans, scrambled eggs, and French Toast) along with other staples like yogurt, fruit, cereal and toast. It’s not to everyone’s liking but they do offer a full restaurant menu as well, but you have to pay for that. On the 2nd day we slept in, had breakfast, another swim, and checked out at 12 noon. Moving closer to the old town PV, we jumped on a “CENTRO” bus and minutes later we arrived at our next hotel, the Rosita…and the journey continues. Hablar Pronto!
