Servatur Altamar

Excellent family holiday. Hotel reception very accommodating and gave us 4 apartments so we were all right next to one another. Stayed half board and food great. Entertainment could be improved as in the evening it was mainly karaoke and the same people were on every night, not giving others a go. Bingo 4pm was great. A lot of money to be won and also happy hour 2 drinks for the price of 1 was great. Pools always clean and tidy. Always plenty of loungers in peak season. Cleaners did a fab job in the apartments. Lift awful, had a mind of its own! Needs another half a dozen of them to accommodate the people staying there. My legs were sore by the end of the holiday with all of the stairs. No good for people with mobility issues. I would return to this hotel.

Excellent hotel and perfect for the family. Superb views of the Atlantic. Room we had was very nice and my daughter loved the place. We loved travelling the island but it was such a nice base to start from. The breakfast was lovely everyday and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed as a family of 4 in mid November. We didn't do all inclusive partly because of other reviews and partly because we were so close to other restaurants. When we went the hotel was very quiet. The majority of customers are Scandinavian, as is most hotels in Puerto Rico. There are 2 pools, one where you are allowed inflatables and one where you are not. We stayed at the one with inflatables as we have young kids. The pool area was very quiet, probably less than a quarter full (no getting up at 6am for beds) so you could sit where you wanted. There isn't any kind of day entertainment here apart from water gymnastics. As said we were self catering so took our own drinks to the pool which doesn't seem to be an issue. The balconies are massive and they all seem to have sea views. We went out each night so can't comment on the entertainment. The Europa centre is literally a 5 minute walk away and there are loads of places to drink and eat there, they also show pretty much all sports. You can get a taxi just outside and go to the commercial centre where again there are plenty of places to eat and drink and this was just over €5. It was still warm, too warm for us without air conditioning which we did hire for a week. Lifts can be a nightmare when waiting for them. Can see this being a problem in busier times. Decent break though.

Børnevenligt hotel Højt helligende på toppen af Puerto Rico med flot udsigt. Fint børnevenligt hotel med gode faciliteter. Mange trapper, så der var run på de 2 elevatorer, det kunne give en del udfordringer. Et kæmpe plus med gratis bus til stranden og ned til centrum i Puerto Rico.

This was our 2nd stay at the Altamar,normally use Eden Apartments but book here instead if we can't get in there or it is priced too high. As with pretty much all the hotels in the area you need decent Mobility as it is very hilly,Altamar does have a lift but sometimes it's just so much quicker to use the stairs. I cannot comment on the food as we go self catering in Gran Canaria as there is so much choice of restaurants and Bars at good prices i really would not want to be stuck in the hotel for mealtimes.Much the same as last time we stayed it's a nice enough hotel,has picturesque views of the Atlantic,hotel staff all nice enough,some of the onsite Spar shop staff on the other hand could use some customer service training but all in all its a good place to stay,we are back again April 2025. The hotel offers a free bus service down to the bottom which is a bonus,its about 7 euro each way in a taxi,rooms have ceiling fans but it looks like aircon is being installed.
