Marina Bayview Gran Canaria - Adults Only

Highly overrated, if you like stair climbing this is the place. Bedroom is average, bathroom ok, but not possible to close doors, cleaning less than average, balcony cleaned once in 2 weeks. No sun screen on balcony, pool bar rates are a joke. You need a taxi if you want to go anywhere or climb 60 meters of stairs.

We stayed here half term week, myself my wife and my 21 year old daughter. The hotel is spotless, and I have never seen so many cleaners daily, the food in the bar area is also very good, with a good choice that is fairly priced. The Sea views are breathtaking , waking up every morning and just opening the blinds to see over the marina was lovely. The hotel is very quiet at night, but be prepared to get a taxi back from the town if you're not good with steps, minimum 145 up to the hotel. The breakfast at the hotel is superb with virtually every choice you could think of, including a hot buffet. Negatives - the bar closes at 6pm. There is no evening entertainment, but there are tons in Puerto Rico. If you want evening meal you have to go to the sister hotel the other side of the bay. The pool is probably the coldest pool I have ever swam in, even after being in for 10 minutes, I was still froze. We went bed and breakfast, as the choice of restaurant in Puerto Rico is endless. We really liked this hotel for the peace and quiet. Our view overlooked the harbour and the pool. The apartment has everything you need, only thing that comes to mind worth noting was the single sun bed on the balcony. Whoever designed it never tried it. A sketch for Mr Bean in the making when laid upon, it’s impossible not to slide off. The reception staff are very friendly which I felt a bit sorry for, the only time you meet them is on arrival and exit. The steps have to be mentioned. My wife counted 138, that’s a lot if you have had a few drinks, or had a hip replacement recently. Flip side of this is the hotel is high up away from any noise and a lovely view, and you may kill off a partner for life insurance. Never had a day where there were no sun beds. Still had the selfish few that throw a towel on and don’t use it, but wasn’t an issue. We didn’t eat there so can’t comment but bar drinks were all good quality. The village for me was a bit dull, my wife really liked it. Get a boat trip to Mogan, it’s a nice place to visit. I was hoping to kitesurfing but was surprised there was no wind at all.

Jeg synes at værelserne var helt fantastiske, samt personalet. Der var rigtig meget der fungerede, og det lå i et godt område. Det eneste minus jeg kan komme i tanke om er overpris på safety box samt restaurant og bar - og så var solsengene virkelig dårlige at ligge i.

Third time I have stayed here and yet again it was excellent . Lovely apartment , stunning views over the marina and out to sea and so clean. Friendly helpful staff . I even overcame my vertigo to tackle the stairs down towards the beach! Strongly recommend

Just back from an amazing holiday … 10 days in Puerto Rico Gran Canaria, the weather was amazing, all apart from the rain on Tuesday, but that can’t be helped. And it’s certainly NOT the hotels fault lol 😂 Unfortunately though I’m not sure I’d stay at the Marina Bayview again. I think the Suites may be the better hotel, and I’m gutted we didn’t take a look at them. We liked the fact that the Bayview is Adult only, but it was a bit too quiet for us and our 16 year old. I think the age limit would be better set at 18. My opinion-Pros and cons I’ll start with the Cons to get that out of the way. 1) Steps (lol) those were a killer back up to the hotel … and before anyone starts, we’ve stayed in Puerto Rico many times before so we know it is Hilly and that there are Steps, we were lucky 🍀 we were in D block in room D105 so it wasn’t that bad for us, but my sister in law and her friend were In the apartment above us and those steps up were a killer 😂 although I just put this comment to warn people who may have mobility issues. 2) Food - Mainly Breakfast 🥞 We did bed and breakfast as our booking and the Cooked food was Cold 🥶… this is quite serious as it could actually cause someone to become very I’ll with food poisoning, and is so easily rectified. It’s a shame because the rest of the breakfast- Toast, croissant’s, continental stuff was a good selection. It’s disappointing because we ended up eating breakfast out some days as my husband and son didn’t want another cold breakfast. Which meant we spent more money than expected, and we’d already paid for the breakfast. 3) Friday Night BBQ 🍗 In my opinion NOT worth the €20, again the foods that were pre cooked - chicken kebabs, chicken wings, potatoes etc were Cold 🥶 - again easily rectified, they could have just been kept warm on the BBQ as their hot plates clearly do not work ! All I had was a steak and salad so I thought it was very overpriced, also we thought drinks were included and had to pay separately for them. I’d say at best €10-€ 12 would be a satisfactory price to pay. 4) The Bar 🍺 Considering it’s an Adult only hotel it was very disappointing that the bar shut at 9pm, I think it should be kept open a bit later, especially as in the suites it’s open till 1am and that’s the family hotel where people with small children stay. We could have quite happily stayed and had a few drinks in the evening overlooking the Marina instead of venturing out every night. 5) The pool - although it’s lovely 😊 and was empty again it was advertised as heated but was actually freezing 🥶 cold … but this is a light comment as some days it was quite refreshing other days i however had goose bumps and had to get out. Now the Pros 1) it’s actually quite a nice hotel and the location / view over the marina is amazing, especially when the sun sets, we have some fantastic photos. 2) Rooms/ Apartments We actually really liked the Apartment we were in and it was big enough for the 3 of us, the only t

A wonderful wee hotel, very peaceful. We loved the poolside breakfast area, all the staff were just lovely. Rooms were super clean and very comfortable. Fantastic views! We will def come back! Just the one negative....room sun loungers are so uncomfortable. Please put the fab loungers in the public areas onto the balconies! But otherwise, a perfect base for a lovely holiday 😁
