Vik Hotel San Antonio

Have stayed here many many times as its a fantastic hotel, great location delicious food brilliant entertainment especially on the Sunday evenings. Staff are friendly and helpful looking forward to my next stay next month.

I love Lanzarote and this hotel. Yes as mentioned so many times the guests are mostly of a certain age bracket but doesn't bother me in the slightest. Weather wasn't the best. Lots of grey cloud, wind, rain and it was very cold on an evening. Did manage to get some sun but not much! Staff brilliant - so friendly - well other than one receptionist (who I won't name) but she seriously needs a customer service course. Food lovely especially the Chinese & Paella on the speciality cooking station. And the puddings ... mmmmm!! Omelettes at breakfast lovely. Grounds & hotel spotless. Always managed to get a sunbed. Rooms comfortable and a great nights sleep from the new pillows. Now this makes me sad to give some negatives as I love this place so much but I have to mention as follows ... 1) As an AI guest you are supposed to get a bottle of water everyday in your room, this did not happen. For the first three days I got none however relative in room next door on same board basis got theirs. I called reception and was assured would be sent, which it was, however the maid looked like I had asked for a million pounds rather than a bottle of water. A smile would have been nice. 2) A couple of days the lift to the restaurant out of service. Highly inconvenient for guests who have mobility issues, in wheelchairs, have pushchairs. Yes there is another lift down to the pool bar and you can access restaurant this way but its a long way to walk when your room far away from that lift. A new lift really needs to be installed to enable easier access if other one breaks. Surely VIK Hotels can afford a new lift with the prices they charge?!?! 3) Some guests seem to have started, and I don't know why they think its acceptable, to reserve seats in the cocktail bar. Putting cardigans over chairs and leaving a 1/2 drunk bottle of water on the table. Disappear for hours then return and plonk themselves down. Not fair on other guests who are looking for seats. 4) Aqua gym - please can we have more than 2 songs without the coloured woggles being forced upon us. Could we have 1/2 class with, 1/2 class without? 5) Evening entertainment - words fail me as to how bad it was. The only decent act throughout our 10 day stay was Rock Resurrection Band who were very good. Generation Pop were ok. Everything else dire, absolutely awful. No words for how bad The Queen tribute act was. He thought he was fabulous, I can assure him he wasn't! Guests pay a lot of money to come and stay here for our holidays; the least we deserve / expect is decent entertainment. Despite my few grumbles I'd go back in a heartbeat!!

Excellent visit rooms, food , staff very busy but good at their jobs.Hotel clean and rooms meticulously cleaned Daily. Once you get up to speed on whatever plan you're on. Things will go smoothly once you understand the staff are doing a day's work in an exceptionally busy environment. While it's not a cheap hotel the value for money is ok.
