My husband and I recently returned from a two week stay at this hotel. It was at least our 4th visit but sadly this time things weren’t quite as good as before. As mentioned, we have visited at least four times, the last time being in November 2023. On that occasion we were given a really warm welcome at check in and during the holiday, on one of the days we returned to our room, there was a bottle of cava in an ice bucket waiting for us and a thank you note for revisiting, which was much appreciated. This time however, nothing like that. In fact no recognition at all that we were returning guests. Our room was 0620 and on reflection I wish we had asked to change it. The steps up and down were just too many over a two week stay and my husband has had heart bypass surgery. From our room to the restaurant we had to go up and down 63 steps not to mention the walk between these stairs and there were not lifts to cover them all. But the real disappointment was when I had to get the Front Desk to request a Doctor visit my husband as he was experiencing severe vomiting and diarrhoea. The Doctor also visited the following day to check on him but sadly at no point did any of the staff ask if my husband was ok or if we needed help with anything. I also suffered from the virus but fortunately not as bad and didn’t require a Doctor but a phone call to the room or a note under the door would have meant a great deal to us. Again when we checked out, the service was disappointing as all the staff member said was “There’s nothing to pay!”. What about “We hope you enjoyed your stay?” or “Look forward to seeing you again” or simply “Safe journey home. Having said all of the above, we did enjoy our stay, the food was excellent as always and Felix in the restaurant was lovely and really looked after us. Not sure if we’ll be back at the moment. I sent this feedback to the hotel directly but disappointingly I didn’t get any reply hence this post.
