Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel

Hemos pasado 4 días en el hotel Finch Bay y la experiencia ha sido muy buena. La atención del personal es fantástica. Para acceder al hotel hay que ir en barco, pero el hotel dispone de unas lanchas a demanda que funcionan muy bien, tanto para ir como para volver. Y si tu teléfono es de fuera te ofrecen uno local para que les puedas avisar para recogerte en el muelle. El día de nuestra llegada nos recogieron en el aeropuerto y organizaron una excursión por el norte de la isla para que pudiéramos aprovechar el día. Vimos tortugas gigantes y los túneles de lava. El resto de los días nos apuntamos a las excursiones del Sea Lion (yate del hotel) visitando Santa Fe y Plaza Sur. Nadamos con tiburones y con tortugas marinas, bancos de peces, rayas,... Vimos iguanas, gaviotas, piqueros de patas azules,... Todo explicado por nuestros guías naturalistas, Valentín y Fabián, que nos acompañaban en todo momento. También iba cerca la zodiac por si alguien se cansaba o agobiaba haciendo snorkel. El capitán y resto del personal del Sea Lion también fue de gran ayuda en todo momento. Nos gustó mucho también la excursión en kayak por los manglares cercanos a la bahía en la que está el Finch Bay, en la que también contamos con un guía naturalista que nos iba contando todo lo que veíamos. No recuerdo el nombre pero fue estupendo también. El hotel es muy agradable, al lado de la playa de los alemanes. La piscina tiene vistas al mar y el bar es estupendo. Los cócteles, riquísimos. Cenamos en el restaurante del hotel la primera noche y comida estaba muy rica. En resumen, muy recomendable.

After researching lots of options for places to stay in the Galápagos, we settled on Finch Bay - and I am so glad we did. The photos and reviews do not to justice to how beautiful this little slice of paradise is. Finch Bay offers many unique benefits vs other hotels or lodges and is the perfect base for a stay to explore Galápagos. Some of the things we loved - - The only hotel which is steps away from a beautiful beach - Located just across the water from Puerto Ayora so it is a peaceful and quiet stay out of town yet so easy to access town for any exploring or dinners etc. as needed - the free and private hotel taxi takes two minutes to get to the town pier and is constantly shuttling back and forth from early until late every day - we never had to wait long (if at all) and every trip enables an opportunity for wildlife spotting along the way! - A beautiful and modern pool which is perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the islands - amazing cocktails too! - The hotel has its own private yacht Sea Lion which organizes day trips to neighboring islands - we took the tours to Bartolomé and North Seymour and Las Bachas and both day trips were great - Rooms were modern, clean and of a decent size and perfect for our family with young children Finally, I wanted to acknowledge and thank the wonderful staff and particularly the hotel manager Alfonso who was very present, attentive and caring to ensure our stay was nothing less than perfect. We had a small hiccup upon arrival with our transfer (through no fault of the hotel due to an unexpected car breakdown), Alfonso personally met us and took great and genuine care to ensure every single moment that followed was flawless. We travel to many properties and I have not seen a hotel manager as engaged, responsive and available as Alfonso was so full credit to him for driving such a wonderful experience with his guests. Thank you so much Alfonso!

We were the very first people to stay in the new suites. I challenge anyone to find a nicer suite/ view than number 10 in the entire Galapagos islands. Carlos was amazing in helping us organize all our trips directly from the resort. Get on their sea lion boat for a day of snorkeling if you can amazing. The shuttle service to Porto Arroyo was really easy and not the slightest bit of a hassle. Don't look any further if you want. Amazing service great food and a beautiful view and location just book it.

Das Hotel ist traumhaft was die Lage und Anlage betrifft. Man muss zu Fuss jedoch fit sein, da man von der Anlagestelle eingutes Stück laufen muss. Vor allem auch die Cocktails und das Essen sind vorzüglich. Sowie auch der Concierge Service ist absolut top! Die Zimmer sind sehr klein, was jedoch mit der guten Ausstattung und den bequemen Betten wett gemacht wird.

Finch Bay est un hôtel charmant, où nous avons séjourné dans des chambres standards simples mais propres, parfaitement suffisantes pour un séjour agréable aux Galápagos. Il est important de noter que l'hôtel propose également des chambres supérieures et des suites pour ceux qui recherchent davantage de confort. La très belle terrasse avec sa piscine est un véritable atout, où l’on peut observer des canards et autres oiseaux venant profiter des lieux. Pas d’inquiétude, la piscine est impeccablement nettoyée. Le petit-déjeuner est excellent, tout comme les repas : bravo au jeune chef pour sa cuisine délicieuse ! Une bonne cuisine représente au moins 50 % des vacances réussies, et ici, tout était parfait. L’hôtel est magnifique, rien à redire sur ce point. Le personnel est extrêmement sympathique et très serviable. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié César d’Esmeraldas, un vrai professionnel, attentif au moindre détail. Par ailleurs, nous avons eu la chance de croiser les propriétaires de l’hôtel, qui sont charmants et souriants, ce qui a rendu notre séjour encore plus agréable. Cela donne vraiment envie de dépenser son argent dans un établissement aussi chaleureux et accueillant.
