Barceló Maya Beach - All Inclusive

I stayed at the Hotel Maya Beach. The entire Barceló complex is impressive, offering a wide range of activities and spaces to enjoy a holiday. However, the hotel itself falls short in terms of food quality and service. The food was not of good quality, and although there were themed restaurants, the same food was served from the buffet. Our room had a clogged bathtub, and the hand towel was not replenished. As for the staff, overall, we experienced poor service at the buffet and the pool bar. We were often ignored, sometimes waiting for over five minutes while staff remained in the storage area chatting amongst themselves. The only noteworthy service we received was at the Santa Fe restaurant, where Inovel Arcos provided an experience truly deserving of a five-star hotel.

Amazing amazing. Food, staff, locations, beach, activities, gardens all get an A+ score. Did I mention the staff? They are the best part of this resort. So hard working, friendly, accommodating. A special call out to the housekeepers and restaurant team. We appreciate you. The entertainment team at Beaches including Lala and Marianna.

We enjoyed our stay here! The pool activities were a blast and we loved the shows. Be sure to book your dinner reservations right when you check in, we had 4 but only could use 3 due to how fast they filled up. Amazingly friendly staff!!

Resort is well maintained, the beach is beautiful, we were a little disappointed with the a la carte restaurant bookings and water sport bookings, we were told some restaurants were fully booked for our entire stay, water sport activities would fill up in the first 30 mins of the counter opening, Barcelo needs to accommodate its guest considering it’s huge of a property they need to have/ make more slots available for reservations.

Extremely Disappointing Start to Our Anniversary Stay. We just arrived today at Barceló Maya Beach for our very first wedding anniversary — a trip we were really looking forward to and spent over $3,000 on to make it special. Unfortunately, our experience so far has been far from what we expected. From the moment we arrived, there was no proper welcome — no greeting, no warmth, nothing that made us feel valued as guests. At the buffet, we were completely ignored, despite being among only a few people there. No one came to our table, no service, not even a simple “hello.” When we went to the resort shops, again, not a single smile or greeting from anyone. It honestly feels like staff don’t care about guest experience. We tried to book à la carte restaurants, and were told that the main steakhouse — one of the reasons we chose this resort — is fully booked for our entire stay, even though we literally just checked in today. We asked to speak with a manager to express our concerns, but were told he was “too busy” and to “try later.” When we finally got to our room, our luggage wasn’t delivered, and we had to call to request it ourselves. For a resort that promotes itself as a premium destination, especially for special occasions like anniversaries, this kind of service and hospitality is unacceptable. We came here hoping for a memorable, relaxing experience — instead, the first few hours have been stressful and disappointing. I really hope someone from management reads this and takes it seriously, because right now this does not reflect the quality or reputation that Barceló resorts claim to have.

A friend and I booked a trip last Minute to the Barcelo Maya Beach. Let me tell you, I have had a wonderful experience here ! The service was exceptional, especially at the pool. Our girl Irena , she felt like we have known her forever and was so sweet ! We really enjoyed her company and her conversation! We are premium hotel guests and I have no complaints. EXCEPT that on the first day we checked in at around 1 PM we were told check in isn’t till 3pm and that’s when we were able to comeback activate our bracelets and then go and settle down / unpack. WRONG We game backs o premium check in and we didn’t get a room till 445 pm because our upgraded wasn’t ready since 1 pm when we did our initial check in . So do better Barcelo! Overall great experience! Thank you for hospitality! The food was good no complaints ! La Fuenta and Kyoto was our favorites ! Thank you to the wait staff, you were exceptional especially Irena at the pool! Gracias !
