Villa Sassolini Country Boutique Hotel

Wir waren bereits das zweite Mal in der Villa Sassolini, doch diesmal war es wirklich schlimm. Das Doppelzimmer lag unter dem Dach und war nur mehrere steile Treppen zu erreichen - ein riesiges Handicap für ältere Menschen oder solche mit Rückenleiden oder Gehbehinderung. Die Preise sind inzwischen mehr als gepfeffert: Für das kleine Bier am Pool berechnete man 8 Euro, für die Flasche Mineralwasser ebenfalls stolze 8 Euro. Ein Rührei beim Frühstück sollte 12 Euro kosten, wurde dann aber nach Protest wieder von der Rechnung genommen. Das Abendessen im Hotel war aber nicht nur preislich eine Frechheit. Nach drei Gängen, von denen die Beilagen der Hauptspeise nur lauwarm bis kalt serviert wurden, kassierte man als Festpreis pro Person 75 Euro. Die größte Frechheit war allerdings, als uns anstelle des bestellten Tiramisu mit Beeren ein Sahnedessert mit Erdbeerstückchen serviert wurde und die Kellner während einer langen Diskussion steif und fest behaupteten, dabei handele es sich um eine "besondere Interpretation" des Tiramisu ... Man ist in diesem Hotel offenbar sehr auf Touristen aus Übersee eingestellt, denen man womöglich auch ein Schnitzel als "besondere Interpretation" des Bistecca Fiorentina verkaufen kann und die anscheinend auch noch bereit sind, jeden Preis zu bezahlen. Wir sind es jedenfalls - und kommen deshalb auch nicht wieder in diese Nepp-Villa. Wichtig für diejenigen, die es trotzdem wagen: Die Belege an der Pool-Bar und nach dem Abendessen sofort kontrollieren und die Gesamtrechnung nochmals sorgfältig überprüfen. Uns sollten beim Check-out Dinge berechnet werden, die wir nie bestellt hatten.

Posto di charme, ci siamo trovati molto bene. Ambiente caldo e personale gentilissimo. Consigliatissimo a chi vuole trovare un'ambiente tranquillo in Toscana.

Che dire ??? Un'esperienza meravigliosa. Siamo stati ospiti di Massimo ed il suo staff dal 31 maggio al 7 giugno 2025. L'attenzione, la cortesia e qualità del servizio sono state straordinarie. Massimo ci ha fatto sentire a casa, credo non si possa descrivere in modo migliore il sentirsi a proprio agio. Ottima la pulizia dei locali, ottimo il servizio di colazione ( curva glicemica da Guinnes dei primati ), fare colazione a bordo piscina non ha prezzo ! Ottimo il ristorante Vin Divino, ambiente accogliente, personale cordiale e cucina di ottima qualità... del vino e della cantina non saprei che dire se non 10 e lode !!! Abbiamo Festeggiato il compleanno di Elisabetta la sera del 5 Giugno ! Sorpresa !!! Gian Marco ha fatto preparare da una Chef di eccezione una torta per Elisabetta… Frutti di Bosco e Fragole !!! Un grazie di cuore a Massimo, Riccardo e Hugo the Boss, per l'attenzione e la cura rivolta ai clienti, un grazie a Gian Marco, per la pazienza e la disponibilità, un abbraccio a Laura, Andrea, Steven, Mattia, Paolo, Katia e Agostino e per tutto quello che fanno. We booked an independent accommodation and chose the option without breakfast. Great welcome, and we received a complimentary upgrade. The property is new, located in a small and quiet village where the silence is broken only by birdsong. Upon departure, we decided to have breakfast at the property, by the pool with a wonderful view of the hills. In addition to the buffet, we ordered something extra from the à la carte menu, freshly prepared. At checkout, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that it was kindly offered by Andrea.

Be aware of this hotel it simply is not worth the money.i write this review as a seasoned traveler to Tuscany having stayed in many hotels. We booked this hotel on the back of the hotel reviews and Mr & Mrs Smith reviews as part of our 41st anniversary trip . The hotel reviews do not represent the actual reality of the place . - There is only one restaurant, situated some 100-150 yards away from the hotel across the street within the sub standard village. The hotel boasted two restaurant’s . - There is no fabulous tasting menu available. In fact, we ate once at Divino, and the food was simply disgusting The other restaurant Cucina is now closed, although it is still signposted on the gate. For information it is a least 6KM to reach the first main road from the hotel and there are no street lights up the path/ road to the hotel up a very windy path /road . We had to drive 12km to the nearest decent restaurant each night - There was no room service as the website boasts. - If there was a bar as advertised in the hotel it was well hidden, and we did not observe it. - There was an area specifically set up for breakfast outside, but it was closed. There was no lunch menu available, as mentioned on the website. We were advised that the restaurant was closed on Wednesday which is contrary to the website. - Our room, the Paris suite, was substandard. It was a small bedroom with a corridor to the bathroom. The corridor contained a sofa bed and a dollhouse, which was of no use. We had specifically requested a bath in our room. However, the bath could only be reached by climbing steps to a height of 1-1.5 meters, and then somehow you had to lower yourself into the bath. There were no supports to assist in entering or exiting the bath. There were no shelves or drawers to place bathroom or makeup items in the bathroom. We did not use the bath as it was simply dangerous. This trip was part of our 41st wedding anniversary, and so my wife had brought a number of long dresses to wear at the aforementioned tasting menu restaurant at the hotel. Of course, this did not exist, but even if it had been open, there was no hanging space for evening dresses. When we mentioned this to the reception, they acknowledged our concerns but did not offer a solution. Of course, we complained after the first night and were moved to another suite (no bath). This was marginally better, but as mentioned, the bathroom was in poor condition. The shower support was broken, there was mould in the shower, the windows were rotting, the toilet was unstable when sat on, and the door was sticking in the floor so we had to shoulder it open !! To be honest as reflected by other reviews the hotel is soulless and we spent as little time as possible in it Regarding the spa that is advertised as free to use, we were advised that we were allowed one session of 90 minutes free, and there would be an additional charge if we wanted to use it again. Un alojamiento muy agradable, con una atención estupenda. La Villa, aunque está un poco apartada, está en un enclave precioso y es un buen punto de partida para visitar la Toscana. Los desayunos muy buenos y el personal siempre pendiente de los clientes
