Auf unserer 2-wöchigen Schottland-Rundreise mit dem Mietwagen haben wir insgesamt 11 Unterkünfte genutzt (1 Hotel, 4 Guesthouses und 6 B&B). Unterwegs waren wir zu Dritt mit dem erwachsenen Sohn, hatten also jeweils 1 Doppel und 1 Einzelzimmer. Dabei ist der allgemeine Eindruck in 2 Klassen aufzuteilen: Freundliche und kommunikative oder eher geschäftsmäßige Gastgeber. • Das hier ist eindeutig der „warmen“ Kategorie zuzuordnen Das "Zuckerl" ... ein Schweizer. Er ist superfreundlich und kommunikativ, aber in keinster Weise aufdringlich! Im "Gemeinschaftszimmer" gibt es so ziemlich alles - von Fernseher über Karaoke-Anlage bis hin zu Gesellschaftsspielen. Parkplatz auf dem Grundstück, schöne Lage mit Blick aufs Wasser. Ein längerer Urlaub in diesem angenehm ruhigen Domizil weit weg von jeglicher Hektik sollter man ins Auge fassen.

Il prezzo della camera, costata 145 sterline (colazione inclusa), è decisamente alto se si pensa che la camera è piuttosto vetusta in termini di carta da parati e arredamento. I materassi e i cuscini hanno spessori imbarazzanti, ma almeno il bagno è pulito e abbastanza moderno. Quassù a Melvich è difficile trovare altre sistemazioni, quindi è normale che il titolare (tedesco) si approfitti del fatto di essere uno dei pochi ad offrire una sistemazione nel selvaggio nord della Scozia. La colazione comunque è ottima, preparata con ingredienti freschi.

Der Eigentümer ist Schweizer. Das soll keine Bewertung sein, ist aber als deutschsprechender Tourist durchaus angenehm! Er ist superfreundlich und kommunikativ, aber in keinster Weise aufdringlich! Absolut angenehmer Mensch mit supersüßem Hund! Im "Gemeinschaftszimmer" gibt es so ziemlich alles - von Fernseher über Karaoke-Anlage bis hin zu Gesellschaftsspielen. Parkplatz auf dem Grundstück, schöne Lage direkt am Wasser. Ein längerer Urlaub in diesem angenehm entspannten Domizil weit weg von jeglicher Hektik wird garantiert den Blutdruck halbieren!

Rolf the host was very helpful when I arrived rather damp after a rainy bike ride, I was able to store my bike safely in the garage and my clothes were put in the washing machine and the heating was kindly turned on early to assist the drying of my coat and shoes. The accommodations were very homely and a good standard, with the shared lounge meant I met some interesting people. Thank you for a great breakfast and comfy stay 😁

Fantastic evening. Great host and spectacular view. Could not have made us more welcome and a superb breakfast before we headed off following morning. July in Scotland though, bring your midge spray! Easy to find, plenty of space and parking. Thank you for a great stay!

We have booked last minute and were not sure what to expect. What a pleasant surprise! Could not dream of a nicer place to stay. Cosy room with a sea view, spotless en-suite shower room, vegan breakfast made to order, excellent service.

Our bedroom was clean comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was as good as you can get. If you're looking for a good guesthouse in the far north of Scotland this is certainly the one to choose. Pauline and Robert Cutts.

We had a lovely stay by Rolf and dog Marley, cosy house, good breakfast and nearby an Inn for diner (also Rolf offers a dinner on request). We had an early boattrip to Orkney islands, so breakfast changed in a lunch package; good alternative. Not far from route NC500.

We stayed 1 night in Room 2. The view was stunning and the cooked breakfast is nice. The toilet was clean but sadly the duvet has blood stain and the shower matt is stained too which is very unpleasant. There is a nespresso machine with coffee pods provided but it is so dusty around there that we didn't use it.
