Nordic Inn and Suites

Loved the place. I will list some of the positives...good parking... good location... AC worked fine... fridge and microwave... good vanity... fair price... bath accessories and nice bathroom... has a table and chairs... large room...easy check-in... and lighting good enough. I really don't have any negatives. This was a very nice place to stay.

This motel exceeded all our expectations. Most of all, this was the cleanest hotel room we've ever stayed in. Our room had two queens in separate rooms. Great price, would definitely come back to the Nordic Inn. The staff was friendly and the location was convenient.

The room was nice. We had a room furthest from the street so it was nice and quiet. The parking spot we chose was next to a landscaped area and the sprinkler went on during the night and totally drenched our dune buggy. Thankfully we had covered it with a tarp or the entire interior would have been soaked. Also, they charge a $100 security deposit when you check in which isn’t refunded until after housekeeping checks the room after you leave.

The Nordic Inn is a good value if you are visiting Portland and not spending much time in the hotel. The rooms are fairly simple, but modern and well furnished. The property and rooms are kept clean. I give them bonus points for daily housekeeping service. It seems a lot of hotels dropped this for no reason over the pandemic, so it is nice to find a budget hotel that still does full housekeeping service every day. In terms of location, it is on the outskirts of town by the airport. This could be a good or bad thing depending on what you want. I thought it was good because you do not have to deal with the riffraff that is associated with Portland. I never felt like my car was in danger here. It does mean, however, that you will not be able to rely on public transportation without driving to it first. This is a very solid hotel option in a city where you often don't know what you are fully getting into.

Stayed in 1 of 3 two-Queen suites over a Thur & Fri night. Room is as advertised. Website says “kitchen utensils are not provided.” It had kitchen towels; otherwise, nothing (e.g., no paper towels, can opener, dish soap). AC by "living room" bed worked to cool off main room, but the cold air didn't circulate very well to the other bedroom. Both beds have ceiling fans, which help. Bedroom has small window, which lets in noise (e.g., trains and planes, which you can hear in other room too; a dumpster was being loaded early in the morning right outside the window... that may have been a random event). There must be an ordinance making trains run slower and blow a quieter whistle at night through 7 am, because there was a big difference between the 6:30 am train one day and 7 am train the next day. If you are a heavy sleeper or, like me, a light sleeper who uses earplugs and white noise and is an early riser, noise shouldn't be an issue for you. Unit was clean. Beds were comfortable. TV in main room swiveled, so could watch from kitchen table or from bed. Found out our water heater pilot light was out the hard way the first night. Had to take cold showers the first night because the front desk person didn't know how to reset the pilot light. It was fixed the next day. If there were instructions, we could have done it ourselves. We were told this was not uncommon for a pilot light to get blown out, due to required safety vents bringing in air from outside. Check your hot water ASAP and hope that the person working there knows how to turn on the pilot if it is off.

This is a very-reasonably priced motel. It has spotless rooms with good amenities, parking and helpful staff. It is in a great location for the airport, I-84 etc. On the other hand, the surrounding area is not the best. The Nordic Inn is an oasis, fenced and well-secured, doing a great job of functioning in a deteriorated part of Portland. I should also mention that, across the road is the excellent El Yucateco, a food cart also doing a great job in a difficult neighborhood. The burritos are fantastic and the people very friendly.

This little motel is immaculately clean and quiet. Everything, even the parking lot, was spotless. Efficient check-in. Our room was updated decor. Nice proximity to airport. Everything in room in working order. We were blown away by cleanliness and updated decor. Cleaner than other way more expensive places we have stayed.

Great stay overall. The location is not central, but it is not that far away from the main attractions in the city. The room was neat and well maintained. The internet was reliable. The staff were nice. Ample parking space was available.

This was my fourth time staying here. It is cheap and basic for an overnight stay. It is clean and fairly quiet at night. The bathroom is tiny but clean. I would not walk or catch the bus here at night. The area is not the greatest but Portland is having problems with crime and this area is better than some parts of the city. Staff are responsive. They do require a $100 deposit but they do credit it back. I would stay here overnight again.
