Baymont by Wyndham Port Wentworth

This place is a dump! Don’t stay here! It is not clean! Just run down and not cared for. Bathroom was the worst! Breakfast was limited and not great and breakfast area needed cleaning too! There are many options for stays in this area. Next time, I’m staying elsewhere!

Staff was super nice -but should have lowered my expectations, i was told before booking renovations had been completed and far from anything being renovated,the quality of work done is just bad! The room we checked into immediately flooded our noses with the smell of mold and mildew/water damage. We were unable to see because there was no electricity to our room at all. We left while waiting for them to turn it on, but when we returned at least 2 hours later, still no power. Thirty more minutes later, they turned it on to reveal the horrors: live & dead roaches, missing safety latch on room door, missing smoke detector, and mold throughout. We checked out because this was unsafe for my children, ages 3 & 5, who are autistic and would not be safe in a room that does not lock properly. They did waive my cancelation fee upon checkout at that time, but the refund they promised my partner will not be coming. They claim there is nothing they can do for me and my family, so please be warned. Do not book with baymomt by windham unless you're prepared for the worst. We also found a bedbug on our luggage as we were loading into the car. I have pictures of all mentioned (bed bug, missing lock, missing smoke detector, and ventilation roaches), except for the mold in the hallway walls/ceiling because I was trying to get my children out of there at that last point. It also smelled like human feces in the lobby as we were trying to run out of there.

The desk clerk was friendly ... it went down hill from there! After driving cross country for 16 hours, I was eager for a rest in a decent hotel. Ummm ... the parking lot was under renovation so I needed park across the street. Next, the advertised pool was under construction. No worries: I'd soak in the tub. Nope. I was put in a wheelchair accessible room with a huge roll-in shower, but no tub. Relax with a good movie maybe? Nope. The TV didn't work. OK, I'd prepare for sleep. Yikes! The bathroom sink was clogged and didn't drain. The good things? The sheet were clean and soft. The curtains closed tightly, so the room was dark. The mattress was firm, but comfortable. Unfortunately, not a place I can recommend :(

Avoid this place. Don't stay here unless you're desperate, they certainly are. The concept is "they're remodeling". I suspect the entire 1st floor has been condemned, but I'm not sure. Most the construction parts are stored in the stairwell. That could account for some of the very bad facilities, but why does that make the internet not work and the practically nonexistent free breakfast so bad? Seems like the family that lives and works there are nice and trying hard, but most of this place is third world nation level. Traveling with family in two rooms, both equally as bad.

Our 2 rooms had been renovated, but one tub needed replacing. Onr tub was very dingy and had big hole that had been repaired. New carpet, microwave and mini fridge.No hangers or irons in rooms. Key did not work to rooms. Overall, front lobby and rooms were clean.

The hotel is under construction which is fine cause everything needs restoration from time to time. What is not ok is that the room has a strong smell of just being painted. I’m sure I’m gonna wake up high from breathing this in all night. Maybe if I reviewed in the am they would have gotten more stars. Very affordable which is good

The Baymont Inn Port Wentworth GA is not worth the money. The hotel is under renovations, but the uncleanliness of the room was enough to never stay there again. I asked for a vacuum so I could clean the room to the point that I would be comfortable. The breakfast choices were minimal. There are so many other hotels in the immediate area that this hotel should be your last choice. I will never stay there again. The owners and hosts are very nice, but that doesn't make up for the uncleanliness I had to deal with.

I’m so glad I did not read reviews until after our stay. We did a Priceline deal where they picked one of 3 for us and unfortunately we got Baymont by Wyndham. We just needed a place to stay on a road trip and it was cheap, but not too cheap. ($110 with taxes etc.) Our second floor room was quiet and relatively clean. It did have a fridge and microwave but I didn’t see a coffee maker. The bathroom’s outlet needed to be upgraded - I doubt it’s up to code and it was pretty loose in the wall. The walls didn’t look straight. Like the drywall was shifting or something. It just didn’t seem sturdy. When we checked in I thought it was weird that they didn’t take a credit card for incidentals like most other hotels but I realized there just weren’t any incidentals. No breakfast - it was a small, empty room. They really need to stop advertising that they offer breakfast. We didn’t encounter any bugs but we went to sleep soon after arriving and left by 8:30 the next morning. We didn’t even turn on the TV so I can’t comment on that. I would not stay there again - even with a Priceline deal.
