The Grand Hotel

Had my granddaughter 1st birthday party at the The Grand Hotel yesterday and I must say what an amazing event, the room was stunning, the staff was amazing and nothing was too much trouble I want to thank the management and staff especially the cleaner for sorting out the mess we made before guests arrived for making the day a day to remember

Not Grand stayed for 2 nights, bed uncomfortable,blinds broken in room so no sleep due to a light shining into the room.water pressure poor. Carpets filthy not been vacuumed needs some money spent on it. Lamp in room faulty everything is very dated

We spent 2 nights here on the 4th floor in a balcony suite. Very nice room and fairly quiet. Staff was friendly and the pub was great for drinks and fairly priced breakfast and dinners. The downtown was not that nice and I wouldn’t stay in Swansea again. I would have given 5 stars but cleaning and mechanical issues didn’t get fixed while we were there.

The best, special, amazing, fantastic, fun, enjoyable wedding day, vows, party ever filled with love, happiness. Will be locked in our thoughts, dreams, memories to stay for eternity. Will definitely lift our mood/spirit if we have a bad day!!

Booked here for a full days wedding package and all was going great. Was told just before midnight the bar was closing. No last orders just closed end of play, done. Then we were told the dj was finishing at midnight . Was a shock as on the day before when we went down to see up the room was told we had the functio room, bar and dj till 1 am. Thought it was all a mistake until security from the legends bar walked in and told the dj to stop playing at 12.05. Twice I asked to speak to the manager to be told he was busy and will come find you. When I finally got to speak to him he said I was told it was midnight, then he changed his mind and said the residents were complaining. So which is it?? He was not apologetic at all and made no attempt to try and resolve it was just a blank no get out! If you want to complain speak to the wedding planner as this is her issue I don't have authority to offer you anything speak to Blancos. Not only does he not have a back bone but he does not have any people skills and should not be doing his job. He basically took an amazing day and and destroyed it not only fir the bride and groom but for all the guests. Jack, Jaques or however you spell your name you should not be in hospitality unless you are a cleaner coz that is probably all you are good for!!

£70 for a room is overpriced. Everywhere was dirty or grubby, blinds in the rooms broken/mouldy. The carpets not hoovered. The bedding and towels were clean. Signs everywhere saying the hotel was under a re-vamp??. Breakfast disappointing, coffee cold, toaster took ages to toast bread. No jam/ marmalade, hash browns cold and soggy. However the staff at reception and bar were so lovely and friendly. The lift was out of order, my 80 year old mum just about managed to get up and down the stairs to the first floor. Nobody told us we had to use the back entrance to get into Hotel at 11.30pm
