We've all been in sterile hotels and resorts. The same rooms, elevators, coffee shops and pools. After a life of business travel - which city am I in now? - I wanted a trip that accentuated the personal, natural flora and fauna, unscheduled time, permission to be me. We found all of that in our guesthouse - Carolyn's View. Carolyn was our oracle. She knew everything we needed to know about where to eat, how to get to the beaches, good walks and Trinidadian culture. Our room was wonderful. Clean, airy and comfy. We had a veranda outside our room. We used it often to bring food back to the guest house and sit with it and wine as the sky grew dark. Ahh, Carolyn's View indeed. Close to the stars and above the lights of Port of Spain. Such a find. We will return there soon. So much more to see, music to hear, foods and beverages to sample.

I arrived after dark and was pleased to find the arranged transfer waiting at the airport. My greeting on arrival was friendly and efficient with the necessary formalities dealt with in a pleasant manner. I then slept the best I had in six weeks. The secret? The bed comes with a cover that can be used when the air con becomes too fierce instead of contractually turning it on and off. There are facilities nearby although a walk into PoS is possible if you feel in need of exercise. There are also buses doing the journey. The room is comfortable with all facilities functioning and this with the genuine hospitality of the owners made for a comfortable few days

Das Zimmer war sehr gemütlich und geräumig! Klimaanlage, Kühlschrank, Fernseher und Radiowecker waren vorhanden. Das Doppelbett war wunderbar bequem. Gegenüber dem Zimmer war das Bad sehr einfach, aber sauber. Außerdem gab es immer (warmes) Wasser. Bettwäsche und Handtücher (reichlich vorhanden) wurden alle zwei bis drei Tage gewechselt. WLAN-Key bekamen wir direkt bei Anreise unaufgefordert. Der Balkon vor den Zimmern bot eine traumhafte Aussicht auf einen Teil der Stadt. Die Gemeinschaftsküche war mit Kühl-Gefrierschrank, Mikrowelle, Wasserkocher und Gasherd ausgestattet. Die Vermieter waren sehr freundlich, haben bei allen Anliegen geholfen und gerne Fragen beantwortet. Das einzig Negative waren kleine Tiere im Zucker in der Gemeinschaftsküche.
