What a stunning place. We had a private, ensuite room with our own fridge and kettle and a balcony but also access to a central space with sofas, dining area and kitchen shared with one other couple. In the room there was water and also amenity kits with slippers, toothbrush, comb soaps etc. Great communication from Captain Dhana and a free pick up on arrival and the best breakfast of our entire 2 weeks in the Andamans, thank you. I cant recommend this place enough!

The host Mrs Revathi and Capt Dhana was very accommodating and provided great local tips. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. Not to mention, our room was impeccably clean and well stocked with everything we needed. From the balcony, we could view the sea and feel the cool breeze! A huge highlight of our stay was Mrs Revathi incredible cooking! She prepared the most delicious Puri (deep fried bread), Chapati and Dhosa with fresh local ingredients, making us feel like we were part of the family during breakfast. The place is so amazing, clean and peaceful. The hosts are wonderful and kind, making you feel like you're not a stranger or outsider but family. The food is also amazing which is a plus. The location is also great, very close to the airport, tourist spots and market.

The Hook BnB offered a comfortable and pleasant stay. The rooms were clean and well-appointed, the beds were comfortable, and the hosts were friendly and attentive. The location was convenient yet peaceful, and the breakfast was wonderful – fresh, delicious, and a perfect start to the day. A recommended choice for a relaxing getaway.

After searching a dozens of hotels, this property showed up and I was instantly hooked to the rave reviews the property boasts with glowing 5 star reviews from almost all guests it has hosted before. The property is helmed by a Retd. Merchant Navy officer, fondly known as Captain Dana. It’s a beautiful 3-storey building with an apartment style structure with almost each room has a balcony view if I am not wrong except the ground floor. All rooms have attached bathrooms and well furnished with AC and TV. The good part is, the property is professionally maintained despite positioned as a homestay. Each room offers toiletry kit upon arrival with super cosy bed just like the ones you get in those fancy high-end hotels. The property is around 200 meters from the main road and at the heart of Port Blair. Now coming to the food. Being a homestay, please don’t expect an extensive menu. They offer healthy, hygienic breakfast with bread toast, jam, butter, milk as standard breakfast. You can also request the hosts if anything specific you want to have. We had Dosa and Idli with sambar and chutney which were delicious. You also get tea/coffee makers and sachets in every room so that you can have an odd hour sip at your own convenience. Also, please note that we never had lunch there, beacuse we were out exploring Andamans ofcourse. But I think you can get lunch if you order one day prior. We had dinner twice ( requested atleast a day prior) and ordered fish stew, chicken chhetinad, chicken stew which tasted amazing to be honest. Please note that Captain Dana himself is a great cook, extremely friendly and a thorough gentleman and his wife (fondly called Mam 🙏🏻) ensured that we had a lovely experience every time we had a proper meal at their property. Now, let’s come to the real reason why you must prefer this property over others. Being a first time visitor to Port Blair, me and my friend had no idea of where to take a taxi, how to book a ferry and most importantly what’s the ideal itinerary should be for a first time visitor in Anadaman. Captain Dana is the dream host you could ever ask for. He takes care of all your commute, ticket booking and everything including airport pick up and drop (ofcourse with charges). But it saves a lof of time as you don’t have to plan all by yourself. From booking scooty to taxi pick and drop when we visited Baratang, Captain Dana ensured we were attended well and ensured our every trip was pleasant. He even packed us food when we had to leave early in the morning for the Jolly Buoy island trip. Last but not least, being a modest home stay, I urge visitors not to expect too extravagant stay and stuff. Captain Dana is passionate about his service and lives with his family in the property itself. So, requesting everyone planning to stay at the property to respect the family-friendly environment and trust me you would be left with a memory of lifetime. We had an absolutely delightful stay at The Hook! From the moment we arrived, the warm and homely atmosphere made us feel so welcome. Revathi and Capt. Dhana are incredibly sweet and go above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of your trip is seamless. They took care of all our cab bookings, helped us plan our travel around the islands effortlessly, and even helped us in finding Nicobarese mats that my dad had been searching for—such a thoughtful gesture! The rooms were impeccably clean and well-maintained. A special mention goes to Revathi's cooking, it was simply amazing! Every meal felt like a comforting, home-cooked delight. Their hospitality truly stood out. It’s rare to find a place where the hosts take such a personal interest in making sure you have a memorable stay. We can’t recommend this place enough!
