Kariega Game Reserve Main Lodge

Food: The food was absolutely delicious! We had one Boma dinner and the rest buffets. At the Boma for dinner, there was a delicious braii/barbeque with African dancing that was led by very kind children. There was a variety of different options for all pallets and dietary requirements. Although the main selection was heavily full of meat, there was a different menu for children and for vegetarians that we used multiple times. The breakfasts were really delicious - the fruit was fresh and sweet and everything was beautifully displayed! Staff: The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful - anything that you wanted was met with a smile and the request was immediately met. Facilities and Accommodation: We stayed in Main Lodge chalets and we also had our own pool. While we didn’t go in very much, it was very clean and sanitary. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very pristine. We were extremely comfortable in our lush beds and bedrooms. We visited the main pool once and it was very lovely. The pools were slightly cool but they were a good temperature to enjoy a swim! The children’s club was very well run and while we didn’t go to any of the set activities we enjoyed the different toys and fun things to play with. Safari and Tour Guide: Each day, we joined each of the 2 safari drives while some of our family (ages 11-68) stayed in the lodge. We had a tour guide named Wes/Wesley who was extremely kind and informative. He was very good with all of the children on our drive and knew the answer to each and every one of our questions. We loved seeing all the different animals including the hippos, lions and elephants! Thank you so much Kareiga! We loved our experience!!

Das Reservat ist der Hammer 🤩 wir hatten vier super organisierte Safaris und einen tollen Aufenthalt dort. Haben so viele Tiere hautnah erleben dürfen. Das ist das Geld absolut wert! Wir hatten einen tollen Ranger Brendon, der super Wissen über das ganze Reservat hatte und auch wusste wo die Tiere zu finden sind. Die Main Lodge war soo schön 🤩 unsere Zimmer/Haus waren super!

Kariega was sooo respectful to the animals and land it cares for. All staff were extremely friendly, kind and warm and made us feel at ease, as well as refreshed after a 3 hour drive morning and evening. We stayed in an Ukhozi Lodge and really pleased we did as it made it all extra special. Views were amazing. Lodge, spotlessly clean and well presented. Hopefully we will be back one day to experience the magnificence of the elephants, giraffes, lions etc. and my new favourite....rhinoceros!

It was an amazing experience in Kariega Game Reserve. The rooms were very nice and clean, the staff was friendly with no excuses, the safari drives were absolutely incredible and it topped everything we could ever imagine. We would come back any time!!

Our first time going on safari and the whole experience from the staff to the accommodation and of course the incredible scenery and wildlife was amazing. I very much hope I have the opportunity to go again. A wonderful end to our fortnight in South Africa.

Great location with amazing wildlife, comfortable lodges and good food. Our guide Brendon was an absolute star, so knowledgeable about all of the animals and answered questions. We were on our drive with three other couples who we had never met and we really all enjoyed ourselves and bonded, so lovely. The drives were quite lengthy covering all different areas of the reserve,Thank you so much.
