Just about to head home after a week here as a family of 3. An honest, constructive review - in summary, a clean, but basic hotel, food and room noise letting it down, 3 star at best. Read on for details. When you walk into the hotel, it looks lovely, the lobby is spacious and there are lots of places to sit and relax. It is quite a big hotel, so be prepared to get your steps in. The room - this was one of the biggest let downs. The room itself was fine; clean and comfortable enough although my husband didn’t sleep well all week. It was 2 single beds pushed together and a sofa bed for my daughter. The walls however, paper thin. A lot of the time I felt like the neighbours were actually in our room it was so loud. You could hear drawers opening and closing and plugs being put into sockets, amongst chatter and stomping. The food - OK at best, I’m looking forward to going home to a bit of variety as there just wasn’t any at any meal time, and some of the meat looked inedible and although I mostly stuck to vegetarian options as I felt it was safer, I did trial some of the more appetising looking meat on some of the days and it was fine. Chips were actually lovely though! The pools - these were cold, and a lot of the children were shivering blue (including mine) but everyone looked like they were having a nice time anyway, and you soon got used to it. Probably be very refreshing in the heat of summer. Tip: if you want a quieter pool experience, choose the top pool near the gardens. If you have children beware, this one is a little deeper. My daughter used the kids club one of the days but wasn’t particularly fussed to go again. We didn’t sample the entertainment really as we were quite tired come the evenings, we popped down one night and the pre-show dancing was questionable. Small arcade on site, very worn and some of the machines broken or not switched on. Finally, although there was a programme of activities advertised throughout the hotel, you wouldn’t know as the animation team just didn’t have any presence. Places we have stayed before you have the team walking round announcing something was about to start and they would try to get people involved.
