Hotel Do Colegio

Tranquilo, elegante, bien situado aunque en una calle muy estrecha y con el coche es difícil aparcar. En general bastante bien.

Hotel is a charming renovation of a historic music conservatory and school. Wonderful location on a small street 2 blocks away from the waterfront and walking distance to most of the downtown attractions. Front desk staff was absolutely fabulous: warm and very helpful. Carlos spent probably 10 minutes with us marking up a map and helping us create an itinerary for our stay. Rooms are quite large (by European standards), but the furnishings and bathroom fixtures are beginning to show their age. Could hear rambunctious kids in room next door (but only right before dinner, so wasn't a problem at night). Pool is quite tiny and in courtyard, so is really more decorative than functional.

Tolles, kleineres Hotel mit toller Lage inmitten der Altstadt und mit sehr netten und zuvorkommendem Service. Wir konnten ohne Verzögerung früher einchecken, direkt vor der Tür kostenlos parken und kleine Wünsche wurden sofort erfüllt. Wir waren mehr als zufrieden.

The hotel was lovely. The location was excellent as we were in the middle of Ponta Delgada close to several things. We walked to dinner and shopping and found it well-located for all the other activities we did around the island. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had the opportunity to stay in several hotel room types, including a standard family room and more common double occupancy rooms. They were all spacious and clean. The bathrooms could use a bit of an update but they were fine as well. Our included breakfast was lovely but it could improve a bit. Its good enough for getting your day started but some things could be better like offering eggs a la carte vs just scrambled eggs in a buffet-style offering. Our receptionist upon arrival was incredibly patient as we were a very large party with multiple rooms. She sorted out some occupancy issues with ease and made our welcome exceptional. We picked this hotel in part because it did have a pool which we thought could be a good distraction for the kids when the longer more complicated plans around the island were too tiring for the kids. But the pool is perhaps the weakest aspect of the hotel as it was VERY VERY cold for kids and was not as clean as it could be. I know most people don't come to this particular hotel in this type of location to use a pool, but if you are going to offer it its best to make it usable. That would be my only complaint. The hotel had limited parking which in our party we got to use but not constantly as it was small and one of the three cars we were driving was always left to find street parking. Luckily there was plenty of that around the hotel, but its very narrow streets so its best to have small cars or know how to park very tightly to the curb to avoid damages on the rental. Overall lovely and would stay there again. But probably best suited for couple or adults with older kids.

Cet hôtel situé en plein centre-ville convient très bien pour un petit séjour à Punta Delgada: on est à 10 minutes de l'aéroport et la rua del Colegio est une petite rue sympathique. Le hall d'acceuil au rez reflète bien le caractère historique et de charme de l'hôtel - les chambres un peu moins: elles sont fonctionnelles et grandes. Nous avons eu une chambre côté court et c'est très silencieux - on peut dormir la fenêtre ouverte sans problème. A signaler que si vous êtes en demi-pension, le restaurant de l'hôtel est japonais et on y mange très bien. Enfin, pour les dèparts matinales pour l'aéroport, l'hôtel met à disposition un petit déjeuner à l'emporter. Bref, tout est ici super pour un séjour pour découvrir la ville. Bravo et merci!

Eine Nacht vor der Weiterreise auf andere Inseln verbrachte ich im Hotel do Colegio. Zum Empfang gab es kein Hallo, da gerade getippt wurde, bis aufgeschaut und nach Check-In gefragt wurde. Dieser lief dann sehr flott und ich hatte gleich alle Infos inkl. WLAN Code und Frühstückszeiten. Ich hatte ein Doppelzimmer Superior gebucht und hatte ein Doppelzimmer mit einen separaten Raum für Couch und TV und somit sehr viel Platz. Das Schlafzimmer war großzügig und die Einrichtung für azorische Verhältnisse relativ modern. Nur mein Bad wurde bei der Renovierung ausgelassen und passte nicht ganz ins Bild. Der Safe im Schrank war winzig und das Schloss fehlte, sodass ich beim Verlassen des Hotels stets alle Unterlagen, Geld und Laptop dabei hatte, letzterer hätte im Safe eh nicht Platz gehabt. Das Frühstück war angemessen, frischer Orangensaft wäre nett gewesen, aber ansonsten war alles in Ordnung. Für eine Nacht war mein Aufenthalt angenehm und ich kann das Hotel weiterempfehlen, für einen längeren Aufenthalt über 3-4 Nächte würde ich aber ein anderes Hotel wählen.

Great experience here. Clean, modern interior built around beautiful stone walls. Inviting and helpful hosts. This is located right in Ponta Delgado- a quick walk to the water and by many restaurants. A full- expansive - buffet is included with locally sourced items.

Fantastic location. Super helpful front desk staff (Bianca, Maria, Carlos). Very nice rooms. Excellent breakfast. Nice lobby and shared spaces -- the hotel is a former school and still has a lot of grace from those days. They have worked to maintain the school theme in the hotel. And I understand the hotel manager was himself a student in the school in his time....
