Macdonald Inchyra Hotel and Spa

The staff are excellent, very friendly and ensure your stay is enjoyable. The rooms in the hotel need updating; I would not choose to stay at the hotel again due to the rooms being quite basic for a 4*, and no safe in the room either. The restaurant area is nice. The bar area could do with an open fire, which would be in keeping with the property and, due to the bar's location can be quite cool. I found the lockers difficult to use; there are no instructions when trying to use them, only in the reception area. I did ask someone to show me, but they were too busy apparently, so I asked another customer to help me. There was no concession for late checkout on New Year's Day; however, upon request, this was granted. You also have to book for breakfast; therefore, on New Year's Day, I had to get up for 9 am to go down to breakfast, which was not ideal. I had paid for the trip online when I booked; however, when I came to checkout, I was charged the full amount again and was informed that there was no log that I had already paid, but when we arrived and checked in, it was acknowledged that I had paid, it was a good job that I had the email displaying that I had paid. Upon further investigation by the hotel, it was noted that I had paid. I thought that I had read somewhere that there was an option for a set menu for NYE, but al a carte was still an option however this was not the case. The food was ok. The stay was made better due to the friendliness of the bar and restaurant staff, all credit to them.

My partner and I have just returned from a one night stay celebrating our anniversary and we had a lovely, relaxing time. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming - especially Megan on reception who was quick to fix a wee issue we had with our TV remote and again was quick to send up condiments to our room when we noticed they had been forgotten with our breakfast, which we had in bed as a treat. Speaking of which, the breakfast was amazing! Bacon and sausages were if good quality and everything cooked beautifully. The room itself was huge, clean and comfortable. Our only wee gripe was that the extra large bed was two singles pushed together creating that sunken gap in the middle which is annoying, and the bathroom is a little dated, but overall the room had everything we needed and was a nice space for us. We also enjoyed some time in the spa which was relaxing and just what we both needed. The pool was large and well maintained with a nice atmosphere and comfy loungers dotted about. We also made use of the sauna and steam room which were great, too. We'd absolutely return.

My friend bought be an overnight stay for my 30th birthday, the spa was fab and loved our dinner in the restaurant but unfortunately this was ruined by the guests who were next door. There was an incident where a couple were arguing and trashing the room to the point the police had to be called. I called reception 3 times while this was happening and was told there is no security in the hotel and the young lad on reception wasn’t sure if he should phone the police or not. I asked him to call the police as it had been going on for hours. We were scared the couple could hear us so we were whispering down the phone to reception. This is not how you should feel in a relaxing spa night with your friend we were terrified and shaken up. I totally understand this isn’t the hotels fault as they can’t control the guests but this ruined our stay and I just assumed they would take some accountability for this ruining our relaxing spa night. We received a email back saying they can’t control the guests and there is nothing they can do. I think there should be security in this hotel for the guests safety, I go to Macdonald hotels a lot and my family owns timeshares with them and I am so disappointed at the service and rude email we received back taking no accountability.

Stayed last night with my granddaughter. We had best time.our tom was very comfortableand clean. Paige went above and beyond. She's amazing. Breakfast bit disappointing. We made most of pool lovely and clean. And afternoon tea very tasty. We will b back

Belated birthday celebrations. All staff friendly and helpful,always smiling. Rooms pleasant if a little dated. Lovely meal although price of drinks a bit on the high side. The pool was lovely, the grandchildren loved it. Didn't try any spa experiences, maybe next time. Feel there should be a dress code I in bar and restaurant, too many people walking about in robes

The hotel is nice and in a nice location, we were attending a wedding and we had a fab time, staff were really pleasant and informative . The only downside was that the room decor and maintenance didn’t match the atmosphere and high quality customer experience that staff provided. Through the corridors you could see how well used the carpet was, apart from being very dated it was thinning in areas. Similar feedback for the room, then fixtures and fittings have been used to a point where they really need scrapped, the beds were very hard and outdated, the bathroom was also as such with things like the panelling on the bath looking scuffed from continued use. I feel some investment is required to bring up to date, this would allow a more cohesive experience. To finish on a positive, we had breakfast there which was lovely, nice spread for the continental and really fresh for the cooked, again staff were fantastic.

Fantastic beds with lovely linen. The room was spotless with a nice tea tray as well as decanter and nice glasses. Spa treatment was nice with a marvellous relaxation room and nice warm pool. Staff very nice and pleasant. 4/5 minutes in taxi from station and later we walked in to Falkirk in around 20 minutes to a nice Chinese. The hot breakfast was 5 star and the buffet side was amazing. The only problem wa the price of drinks. I don't mind paying maybe city centre prices but they are horrendously high in hotel. Just a warning if you offer to buy a round. All in all lovely spa break

I’m used to staying in Hilton’s so I can only really compare to one of those. Staff at reception were nice and friendly as too were the staff in the spa and pool areas. However everyone else seemed like they’d been on their 7th shift of the week and couldn’t be bothered with you. The hotel itself is set in a lovely picturesque wooded area. The building’s exterior is pleasant enough. However the interior needs a full refit! Pipes on show everywhere. Really dated, dark and dingy corridors. The water machines in the corridor did not work. The rooms felt like they were last upgraded in the late 90’s maybe early 2000’s. Dark wood everywhere, with chips, stuffs and stains on most of it. Mirror in the bathroom was losing all its metallic backing in every corner. Rooms were clean enough but there was just so much wear and tear it felt dirty. Breakfast - no hot buffet - just a tiny plate of cooked food. A lot of people were moaning at the fact there was only 1 of each item! Being charged extra for a latte is also unacceptable in this day and age! The continental choice was not too bad in all honesty. Overall I’ll not be back until I hear it’s been completely refurbished. Because at the moment it feels like a 2 star hotel!
