Mariela Hotel Apartments

It was a pleasure to return to the Mariela again for our second visit this year. Yes it does need a little TLC but the welcome you get from Pambos-Eleni and Family and there great staff is second to none they can’t do enough for you. It is wonderfully clean and the pool is clean and well maintained. I had 2 massages this visit from Ireni there resident masseur and what a pleasure it was very relaxing and and sorted my knots out a treat I can’t wait to go back it’s so close to all the amenities like the€2 bus to Latchi and the restaurants in polis are amazing and I recommend trying Costa’s corner and there homemade pies and chips absolutely delicious Thank you again for all you did to make our holiday memorable.

The hotel itself was well presented in the communal areas although the one bedroom apartment that we had could definitely have done with some TLC. Everything worked, however, and the housekeeping staff were nice even if they did insist on coming at 9:15 in the morning for some reason. The bed was not particularly comfortable (quite hard and the sofa bed in the living room was very lumpy and tricky to get to sleep on. We only got one set of sheets when we arrived so we went downstairs to ask for some more and were handed some more sheets as we were on our way out. It would’ve been nice if they’ve taken them up to the room, but I understand if they were shortstaffed. We ordered a Keo beer and a gin and lemonade and were charged €12 even though looking at the prices on the menu we should’ve only been charged about €8. There was no atmosphere at all around the pool in fact the one time that we did attempt to go down and have a swim and a beer we were scowled at by the other holiday makers for talking. This is a hotel perfect for people that want to do absolutely nothing in silence. It was not the best choice of hotel for us. We also unfortunately did not find the staff overly friendly there was only one gentleman who spoke to us- he did not offer his name when we offered ours and the other staff barely acknowledged that we existed. We understand that it’s the end of the season and everybody is tired but felt more of an inconvenience than anything else. We probably would not return here, but I’m sure it has its place for some people.

Another lovely holiday at the Mariela! As always, we had a lovely time in our favourite room. Pambos and Eleni were the perfect hosts. Sok,the cleaner, was friendly and helpful. We love coming to Polis and arriving at the Mariela is the perfect end to our journey. We are always sad to leave. Looking forward to visiting again.

Basic hotel but with all the facilities you need. Lovely couple who run the hotel do anything to help, which was great for this elderly solo female traveller. Very near town centre with super restaurants. I can recommend the Herb Garden and the Old Town restaurants. Bus to Latchi and Aphrodite’s beach was €2. Lots of repeat customers who stay for many weeks.

Hi Pambos and Eleni Thankyou for another wonderful holiday. We stayed 2 weeks from September 18th. Owners are so wonderful so friendly. We had large studio top floor 38b with sea and mountain view Rooms cleaned daily. Pool great plenty of sunbeds. Lovely snack and drinks bar. Will definitely be returning next year. Carole and Dave

I am currently on my last day in Mariella. And I will be honest after reading previous reviews I did think about cancelling ! I am glad I didn’t this is a charming place, its not the Hilton but doesn’t profess to be. The owners are cheerful and helpful, the room whilst basic has everything I needed for my stay. Same with the breakfast. I am a solo female traveller and I have to say everyone I have met has been super friendly, there are a ton of return guests, who where all on hand to give recommendations in and around the village but also just to have a wee chat at the end of the evening. I would return again as it is a great location to base yourself to explore Cyprus.
