Poas Volcano Observatory Lodge & Glamping

I had an absolutely amazing time at the glamping. GREAT CHOICE for everyone who is looking for a quiet and off beat location with a beautiful view and a reasonable distance to classic tourist attractions. The whole areal is decorated with so much love and and kindness, you can see it in every detail. I can highly recommend this for a remote romantic get away with lovely service. The hosts are just gorgeous people, very helpful and kind, but prepare to speak some spanish :) All in all I would definitely book this accommodation again without a doubt. 10/10

El lugar está en un predio familiar, donde se encuentran los tres domos, mirando el valle. A nuestro ingreso, no había nadie ahí para recibirnos. Por suerte ingresé a uno de los domos, pude conectarme a wifi y ver el mensaje de los dueños explicando cómo funciona todo (no todos los viajeros tienen señal durante el viaje). Al llegar al lugar nos sorprendió la cabaña de recepción, que da aspecto de tremendo descuido. Pero los domos son tal como se muestran, acogedores y con linda vista (no es precisamente un observatorio). En lo personal, me gustó dormir sintiendo como se estremecía el domo por el viento y la lluvia (a mi acompañante no le agradó). El domo no es hermético por lo que entra frío (usamos la ropa de las dos camas). Funciona la luz, la ducha caliente, el wifi e incluso tiene TV con cable. Queda muy cerca del volcán Poas.

Max is a very nice and friendly guy. He is really helpful and cares about Hits customers. The view of this place looks absolutly amazing. Its just something special. I can recommend this place a lot. You will remeber this stay for a long time. It will give you a feeling of Adventure👌👌 thanks a lot Max! All the Best

Lugar mágico y acogedor rodeado de mucha tranquilidad y paz, ambiente donde definitivamente podrás relajarte, nadie lo molesta a uno descansé delicioso. Me gusto el Domo amplio y muy limpio y dueños muy amables. 100% Recomendado

Siamo arrivati alle 18.30. La strada di accesso alla struttura è allucinante ma per fortuna avendo un 4x4 siamo riusciti (a stento) a salire. Nessuno ad accoglierci e abbiamo dovuto noi cercare aiuto quando siamo entrati nella tenda e ci siamo resi conto che si gelava. Ci è stata data solo una piccola stufetta che a stento poteva riscaldare le mani. Abbiamo dormito nel gelo, vestiti con le cose più calde che avevamo. La temperatura era nella media stagionale (ad agosto) quindi il problema è solo la totale assenza di riscaldamento e di coibentazione delle tende che per un prezzo così alto DEVE essere offerta. La notte è stata infernale, solo la mattina verso le 6 la tenda ha cominciato a riscaldarsi un po’ Viaggiavamo con un bambino di 4 anni ma devo dire che se anche fossimo stati solo adulti non avremmo avuto dubbi, come abbiamo fatto, a rinunciare alla seconda notte già pagata e andare in un’altra sistemazione. Inutile dire che abbiamo cercato più volte il proprietario assente e quando finalmente abbiamo trovato una signora a cui restituire le chiavi e spiegare il perché andavamo via, ci è stato detto che erano fatti nostri e che non ci sarebbe stato restituito nulla. Immediatamente dopo è stata cancellata la nostra prenotazione, forse pensando di bloccare la recensione? Non fatevi ammaliare dalle foto su booking e dalla sistemazione inusuale, vi sentireste truffati come ci siamo sentiti noi. We arrived at 6.30pm. The access road to the structure is terrible but luckily having a 4x4 we managed (barely) to climb. No one to welcome us and we had to seek help when we entered the tent and realized it was freezing. We were only given a small heater that could hardly warm our hands. We slept in the cold, dressed in the warmest things we had. The temperature was in the seasonal average (in August) so the problem is only the total absence of heating and insulation of the tents which MUST be offered for such a high price. The night was hellish, only in the morning around 6 the tent began to heat up a bit We were traveling with a 4 year old but I have to say that even if we had been adults only we would have had no doubts, as we did, to give up the second night already paid for and go to another accommodation. Needless to say, we searched for the absent owner several times and when we finally found a lady to return the keys to and explain why we were leaving, we were told it was our business and nothing would be returned to us. Immediately afterwards our booking was cancelled, perhaps thinking of blocking the review? Don't be enchanted by the photos on booking and the unusual accommodation, you would feel scammed like we felt.

This place is amazing. The family is very nice, the food is great, and the domes are very cool. Hot water, good beds, warm blankets. It has a good view even on a cloudy day. I stayed with my 9 year old daughter and she loved it. She says it gets 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Highly recommend this place; it’s a great way to start your trip, just an hour+ outside of San Jose.
