Plett Quarter Hotel - Lion Roars Hotels & Lodges

This is a new hotel and apartments in the centre of the Plett CBD. Great location with easy access to the Knysna/PE main road and walking distance down to the beach (but a very uphill walk home). The highlight of the hotel is undoubtedly the rooftop pool and bar area. We were amazed that this wasn't busier. Lovely breakfasts and the staff are super. Our one slight concern was that we thought we booked a 'high room with a view". Our room was actually on lower ground floor with little view (mostly of the back of the apartment building in front. However still a lovely place to stay that we would recommend

We booked a luxury suite, and I asked when I made the reservation, for a special room with view as it was my birthday. When we checked in and got handed our keys, reception said we are booked in an economy room??? I corrected the receptionist and told her it was a luxury suite. Our room was on the lower ground level, with a very limited sea view and just one floor up from the car park with a view into the neighbour's back yard. The luxury suite did not feel like a luxury suite, other than the coffee machine in the room. The noise levels in the hotel, especially in the morning, is horrendous. We asked for turndown service, which did not happen. When we returned after being out for the entire day, leaving the hotel at 08h30am, our room was not serviced. The location is great, the staff is super friendly, the buffet breakfast is good, but for what we paid for 2 nights, I think there are better options in Plett.

Excellent modern, stylish hotel. Good quality fixtures and fittings in room featuring everything you need for a pleasant stay. Breakfast was enjoyable as were two other meals I ate in the restaurant. Checkout was 11AM however manager generously gave me full access to hotel facilities until 5PM. Recommended
