The Shore at 46th Hotel

If I could rate it zero stars, I would! Never have I stayed anywhere that has left a taste this bad in my mouth, ever. Also avoid any other SAMSON WATERS properties at all costs because the properties are not managed or maintained at all. If you have any issues they will not provide you support within a timely manor if at all, and they will absolutely leave you high and dry with no offers of compensation or adequate support. This stay put a huge damper on my birthday trip, they should honestly be ashamed of lying to people and taking their hard earned money. We booked a 3 bed 2 bath penthouse suite for 4 nights. We knew that we would only being sleeping there for 3 nights, but because we travelled all night and landed in Cancun at 5:45 am I booked the suite for an additional night so that we could shower and nap immediately upon arrival. This is because we were told early check in was not an option. When we arrived there was no power in the building, so no elevators, no ac, no ice etc. Elevators were not working and the concierge we were told about would not bring our luggage up to the suite. After lugging it up 5 flights of stairs we came to realize that the water was also turned off in the suite, so no showers, no sleep, nothing. This is all after the pre arranged transportation failed to pick us up at the airport when we arrived, so we had to pay extra to take a cab. This is why we contacted Samson several times before our stay to arrange private transportation. Our flight was delayed, however they did have the flight number and our phone numbers and never called us or picked us up. The ac never fully worked for more than 1 hour or so in half of the rooms. We would have to choose two of the four ac units to run at one time otherwise the breaker would flip and they would all shut off. This made it nearly impossible to sleep. The sink in the kitchen was not fixed to the counter properly and leaked water inside the cutlery drawers and cupboards below when we washed dishes by hand making a huge mess. No paper or kitchen towels/rags of any kind to wipe up the water though. The pipe under the sink also completely fell off at one point and water just went into the floor via the cupboard. Oh and by the way, we would have used the dishwasher if it worked , which it did not. The pool area on the roof was nice, but our private pool needed cleaning and the tiles were falling off everywhere and were sharp. Let’s not forget the entire corner edge of the wall adjacent to the primary bedroom broke off in dangerous chards one night because the magnet door stop meant to hold the kitchen door open was also broken and useless. Giving Samson Waters Property Management and The Shores an opportunity to make something right here and at least reach out to us in regards to our horrific experience here.

Our family stayed in Omar’s condo at The Shore for a week and it was the perfect landing spot for our time in Playa del Carmen. The building is wonderfully located two blocks from the beach and one block from 5th Ave. it is clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff working the desk were all incredibly helpful and kind. The pool was a nice size and had great lounge opportunities. We never tried the woodfired pizza, but the smell alone was worth the price of admission! The condo was clean and comfortable. They have great storage space and the living area is perfect for lounging during the afternoon. The bathrooms are nice and kitchen works well for simple meals in. We were thrilled with our stay at The Shore and definitely hope to return!
