Gran Oasis Resort

We had a fantastic stay at the Gran Oasis Resort in Tenerife! The staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The whole place maintained a high level of cleanliness throughout our stay. Our son had his 5th birthday out there and the hotel went the extra mile, without any mention from us. He was given a voucher for the shop where he could choose from a selection of sweets and chocolate, and was then presented with a cake at dinner where the team sang happy birthday to him. He was over the moon. There was a great variety of food and drinks available throughout the day, with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, we always found something delicious to enjoy. We heard someone comment that there wasn’t a dedicated kids’ section at dinner, and although that was the case, this wasn’t an issue for us as our children aren’t particularly fussy eaters. They made full use of the salad bar and wide selection of fresh fruit. They never went hungry! The hotel had plenty to keep us occupied, woth multiple pools and daily activities in and around each of them. Although out eldest (almost 10) sat out of the evening entertainment for the children she still had a wonderful time and our 5 year old looked forward to it every time! Overall, we had a really relaxing and enjoyable experience and would happily return. An extra mention to the entertainment team, particularly Carlos and Elle. They were great and our son in particular looked for Carlos every evening to lead the mini disco. Thank you!

This is a great resort for families—multiple pools, lots of food options, lovely staff. Reception had a bag of sandwiches and drinks waiting for us as our flight was delayed making us miss dinner. Later they surprised our son with a birthday cake at dinner AND a treat from the shop, absolutely made his day. We stayed in a two storey apartment with beds in the living room in addition to a bedroom downstairs. Both have balconies with plenty of shade. For animals lovers there’s a variety of adorable birds in the trees around the hotel, we’ve enjoyed watching their antics. The all-inclusive drink options are great, shout out to Miguel the barman who makes an excellent cocktail!

Absolutely fantastic hotel and staff. This was our second time at Gran Oasis and cannot find a fault with the resort. Lots of different varieties of food on offer, soup was fantastic every day, lots to choose from at salad bar, loads of different bread and for the main meals they were changed regularly and never felt samey. The snack bar was always fresh and full with lots of choice (foccacia with parma ham and olives one of the days, yum). Pools were great and never felt overly busy, enjoyed playing water polo every day. The Mini kids pool away from the other pools is excellent and is usually very quiet, kids spent a lot of time there playing in pool and looking for lizards. Staff are always so friendly but a couple in particular. Vera - He is such a lovely man. My son tried to learn a different bit of Spanish every day to speak to him when going into restaurant and Vera appreciated this and helped him out and gave him a hug when leaving at end of our holiday. He is an absolute star and a great asset to Gran Oasis. Marina - Lifeguard at kids pool, she is a fantastic lady and spends a lot of time getting to know the kids. She even remembered us from last year. She wasn't working the last couple of days of our holiday but she was passing pool on her last day and spent some time with our kids and gave them big hugs and then hugged my wife. Such a friendly lovely lady and another great asset to the resort. Please try and ignore the negative comments as we have now been twice and have had no negative issues. Cant wait to go back!!!

We’ve been back a month before I’ve written this review and it’s taken me a month to write this review as we were quite disappointed by our stay, due to the high praise this hotel seems to get but it is far from reality. Firstly, we paid £1800 with EasyJet Holidays from Liverpool Airport flying out in 6th June for a week which I think is good value for the time of year and a week’s all inclusive however I still feel disappointed and given the option again, I’d change hotels. Entertainment - there is an entertainment team, particularly Shelby and a guy with dreadlocks who I’m ashamed to say I can’t remember his name, who are excellent with the kids. It takes some skill and dedication to have the levels of enthusiasm they had with the kids and even just remembering the kids names when there’s some a high turnover of guests, it deserves praise. The daytime entertainment for the adults is also quite good. Where it lets itself down is the evening entertainment. There is a mini disco every night however the entertainment that follow is some of the poorest I’ve seen. The worst being a Sunday evening where the mini disco was cut short to the astonishment of the parents and kids to allow a VR Headset company to come in and sell the opportunity to use their equipment. So essentially the entertainment was sitting watching people using headsets. Really poor. Another highlight being possibly the worst magic act I’ve ever seen which included a shadow puppet display which when I shared it on social media, seemed to generate a hysterical response by others. Food - for what is meant to be a 4 star family hotel, I found the food quite disappointing in selection and quality. In other reviews the breakfast gets high praise however it is pretty standard in line with other all inclusive hotels. Dinner time is a struggle if you are a picky eater or have children who are picky eaters - it seems previously there would be a “kids section” with some easy options however on our visit, this was not the case and that section had been replaced by bottles of cava. If you have a dietary requirement, I would be very weary as I saw bits of sea food being removed from sautéed vegetables and looking at the label, this risk of allergen was not included. The “snack bar” is really poor. I believe it was a temporary solution as there was works going on but the way the food is kept meant soggy chips, nuggets and dry burgers. The cold sandwich selection was very hit and miss. Praise should go to the staff as they do run a tight ship with clearing tables Pools - there are 2 large poos and a kiddy pool. The kiddy pool is very shallow and with a 4 year old who described it as “for babies” , I found the pool design for families quite poor. Both larger pools are about 1.5m deep across the pool. So if you’re looking to throw a ball about a pool with your older kids, it may be a struggle. There is a smaller pool attached to one of the pools which is described as a “kiddy pool” howeve

A very relaxed resort. Ideal if you have a young family. We had a 2 bedroom and apartment was perfect. Restraint is small and the snack bar option isn’t great for lunch. Swimming pools are lovely temperature and lots of beds but some folk still insist on getting up so early to reserve a bed
