We are on the last day of our 10 day stay in the Hotel Gala. It caters for families, young adults and retirees (us); from many different countries and backgrounds. The hotel is spotless and tries to have something for everyone. It is in a very central location with a wide range of bars, clubs and restaurants nearby. Most staff are friendly and helpful, though some restaurant staff appeared to be under pressure. The facilities at the hotel are excellent and we really couldn't fault them. We intended to try the spa, but got sidetracked with beach massages. The evening food was not really to our liking, but hey, they had a lot of different nationalities to try and please. Instead we eat out most evenings and sometimes had lunch in the hotel. The evening entertainment far exceeded our expectations, so much so that we returned to watch it many evenings. (Normally, when we eat out, we stay out.) Our only issue was that the evening bar service could be very slow. Hotel Gala is in one of the most lively areas of the Canary Islands. It attracts a wide range of clientele and makes a good effort to cater for them all. If you're looking for a quiet holiday, with no noise or distractions, maybe it's not for you. If you're open to holidaying with many nationalities, with a friendly vibe ; why not give it a go?

Stayed here for 6 nights all inclusive rooms were clean but stayed on the back side loud music from Veronica’s ***** kept us awake till 4.30 am every night. Food was cold nothing filled up and the chicken cooked to order was raw..Cockroaches running around the floors at meal times.Arrived around lunch time and had to pay for drinks until our room was ready at 2pm.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön und gepflegt. Es liegt 100 Meter vom Ozean entfernt. Die Zimmerreinigung war jedoch schrecklich. Der Boden wurde während unseres Aufenthalts kein einziges Mal gewischt, obwohl wir der Reinigungskraft einen Zettel hinterlassen und ein Trinkgeld gegeben haben. Das Trinkgeld hat sie genommen, den Boden aber nicht gereinigt. Das Essen war gut, aber oft ungesalzen und ohne Gewürze – sehr fad. Zudem liefen Kakerlaken an den Wänden und auf den Tischen herum. Die Stadt und die Promenade von Los Americas sind schmutzig. Überall liegen Flaschen, Dosen, Papier herum, und es riecht ständig nach Urin. Insgesamt ist dieser Ort nicht zu empfehlen. Andere Orte auf der Insel sind mehr oder weniger sauber.

I have been to many many 4 and 5 star hotels but this was by far the worst!!! If you have any taste buds in your mouth absolutly DO NOT book this hotel. The breakfast and dinner options are awful. When this was communicated with the staf there were no solutions offered what so ever. Housekeeping mops the floor with the dirty water of every room. I have seen the water it was pitch black. I would recommend every other hotel than one of the Alexandre group hotels. For all the problems above we went to the reception and the could not offer anything to compensate for the terrible experience. I am shocked that the standard for 4* is so low. It is a maximum 3* in disguise of a 4*

Currently on day 3 staying here at the gala and so far we cannot fault the place(first time in Tenerife). We are in a sea view room right at the end of the building next to the strip(and yes you can hear the music when sitting outside but barely when the balcony door is closed). And it’s easy to walk right past the ***** on the other side of the road (not our scene anymore and travelling with a 12 year old)The staff have been very friendly especially the cleaners, restaurant staff and reception staff. Pool is a decent size and hasn’t been overcrowded so far. Have been able to get a sun lounger every time we have went down to the pool. Can’t comment on the entertainment as we have been out every night so far. Breakfast and lunch have been not bad at all, we have always found something we can eat (reading the reviews we were worried about this as me and my daughter are fussy). All in all a fab stay so far and would definitely come back
