Elba Premium Suites - Adults Only

This was our fourth visit to this lovely hotel and it didn't disappoint. The staff seem a lot happier this year, they continue to work hard and look after you. Thankyou to JAntonio (restaurant) and Dany ( El Mirador bar) who looked after us well. It was nice to have a bag drop to the room from Angel after the long journey , never had this before. . Lovely to see Chuss again and happy that he has been promoted , the guy is a star, although we did miss him at the Jaemos bar. Only real negative was having to wait 3 days for a kettle in the room . Room cleaned daily, pool towels provided for €10 each deposit, room safe €4 per day. Food at times in the upstairs adult section was at times on the cool side however we didn't starve there is always choice for something to eat. Our meal at the La Nonna Italian restaurant was really nice, I had the steak , cooked to how I liked it and adequate portion size . We booked the Rancho Texas Country & Western night through the TUI rep, who is at the hotel most days , and it was a blast. Loved it. Yeehaw !! Animation team as ever were full of energy and the variety show was well rehearsed, Well done guys. Adult section entertainment could last a bit longer in the nights, we after all grown ups, however we enjoyed what was on offer most nights . We bumped into the lovely Northern Soul people who we met this time last year which was nice and shows that people return to this hotel , so don't be put off by negative reviews, enjoy your stay here . Premium suites are lovely rooms, shower great and beds very comfy. There are some areas where Elba is lacking though. Location. About a 20 minute walk to the front. Not bad but all up hill coming back and when we were there it was a wind tunnel. We never used the speciality restaurant so can’t comment. The premium restaurant: The food was average, often you don’t get offered water or drinks when you sit down and regularly have to try and get a servers attention. It was funny was watching the scramble for tables at exactly 7pm when it opened and then it wasn’t nice seeing people turned away and being told, come back later. It was chaos on some nights and it’s not high season yet. We didn’t like being told that we would have to pay for replacement coffee pods for the room. We assumed that as premium all inclusive the least that would afford you was coffee for your room. We were disappointed with WiFi as it was very intermittent, and although we never watch tv on holiday, we like to have a music channel on when getting ready in the evening, unfortunately every channel had a no signal message on the screen apart from a Spanish news channel. Bar service is very slow, often there were long queues. There just seems to be a lack of staff throughout the hotel. For instance a couple of times our room was not touched at all, so no making of the beds or replacement water, and one time a cleaner turned up at 5pm as we were showering for the evening wanting to clean the room! All in all it was a good stay because we were on holiday and the weather was great but if coming back to playa blanca, I wouldn’t choose the Elba.

Had an amazing week here, the hotel is lovely and very clean. The manager and the team are very friendly and will always stop for a chat. Room was lovely and clean. Food was lovely lots of choices. Would definitely recommend a stay. Walk to town is about 15 minutes and have some lovely restaurants.

Our main word when describing this hotel was 'fine!' Its described as Adults Only, which the Premium Suites part is, but the site is shared with Elba Royal Palace, which does have children, and the two hotels share a main building, where the reception, restaurants and bar areas are. Premium Suites guests have their own restaurant and bar area, but can use the main bar as well, and the entertainment theatre is open to guests from both hotels. This means you are likely to see (and hear) children in the main building, but once in the restaurant/bar or through the card controlled gate into the Premium Suite area, its very peaceful. Our room was very bright, modern and clean. We were 3 adults in one room and the third bed was a small, single sofa bed. I found it comfortable, but I'm small so a larger person may have struggled. The suite wasn't quite as big as the photos made it appear and due to the sofa being made into a bed, there was only one chair for three of us inside. As with many hotels all over the world, just because a third bed is added, they don't think of adding a third mug, glass or balcony sunbed. We got a 3rd sunbed after asking, but the third glass came a day before we left! The decked terrace/balcony was my favourite part of the room facilities. The pool area was lovely and plenty of beds. We also enjoyed the poolside entertainment of sangria and fried chicken, with a special shout out to Ramon and his Mojito making class. The hotel is exceptionally clean and the grounds extremely neat and tidy. However, there were some times when towels were changed but not replaced like for like, one day you'd have a bath mat and next day you wouldn't. The hotel is a good 20min walk from shops and restaurants in Playa Blanca and there are no nearby bars and restaurants that you can 'nip' to on a lunch time. Having said that it was only €4 in a taxi to Playa Blanca and €7 to the Rubicon Marina, but it still made going out a bit of an effort. Evening entertainment in the adults only bar was hit and miss. I can't comment on the shows in the theatre, as we didn't go to any. The restaurant. I found the choice of food perfectly adequate and all was tasty, although I agree with some comments its not particularly hot. As with all hotel buffets, the sides didn't always go with the mains, but there was always something to choose, and overall I enjoyed the food. However, the organisation of the restaurant needs an overhaul. It opens at 7 and by 7:30 you're lucky to get a seat. Your room number is taken and you're asked to wait in the bar (perfectly reasonable), but then if someone else comes as people are leaving, they seemed to be shown to the newly empty table before the people waiting. Vacated tables also seemed to take an age to be cleared and re-laid which compounded the problem. Staff don't show you to a table so you also get couples sat on tables made for 4, which made getting a table for parties of 3+ even more difficult. My advice to the hote

We stayed at the Elba premium suites at the end of February 2025 and into March as it was my wife's 50th and chose this hotel as it looked good on the web. On arrival everything was good and check in was swift with the staff wishing my wife a happy birthday although it wasn't for a couple of days but it was nice all the same, I was surprised that there was no guidance to your room as most places these days have a golf boogie to jump on to anyway we found our suite in the adult only section of the hotel and the room was nice and clean although we did find a stray can of beer next to the bed from the previous residents, paying additional for the safe was a shock and an empty mini fridge was also a shock but you do get a bottle of water each day. The adult pool area and poolside bar is nice but the area is far too small for the amount of guests that stay here, most days all loungers had been taken by 10.00am and some reserved that the hotel states it manages but doesn't so you have to go to the main pool area which isn't bad but the water is Baltic. The food is by far the hotels weakness, every night some of the supposedly hot food is cold and not very pleasant to eat, this has been reported many times in other reviews with the management saying that they are looking into it but so far it's no better, in fact the best meal that we had in a week here was not in the hotel and trying to book a reservation at one of the two restaurants proved unsuccessful with no availability apart from a 9pm booking at Nonna's which we turned down as we didn't want to eat that late and talking to other guests it was probably a good thing. The adult restaurant was nice for breakfast although it seems as though the hotel gets it's delivery on Monday as the week progresses the offerings become less and less with various things running out and staff have no idea when it will be replaced, e.g. Nutella and honey ran out by Thursday and wasn't replaced until Monday, Sunday was our last night and the offerings were very slim with no hot meat or special themed food, hot water only comes via the coffee machine so everyone is queuing at one or two machines so the hotel would benefit from a separate hot water source but they don't seem that bothered about it. Overall our stay was okay but could have been so much better and we are in no rush to rebook for the Elba premium suites, there seems to be a lack of staff in most areas of the hotel and only having one staff member on a bar just seemed to frustrate people, good job we are not big drinkers, however if you wanted a coffee you had to join the que as the machine was behind the bar and not self service. With some investment the hotel could be much better however in it's current position we will be trying somewhere else for our next visit.

The wine tasting session was a lovely experience, great facility’s and lovely staff. Weather was better than expected and the pools are fantastic. Rooms cleaned everyday. Would be nice if the safes were included in the price. Adults only pool and lunch are a nice escape.
