Anna Plakias Apartments

the apartments are exalt and have parking and easy access to the sea front and restaurants we had a 1 bedroom plenty of room bed comfy the swimming pool we did not use because of the weather have have to say one thing the lady who look's after the place [sorry i never got you name] she was constantly cleaning inside and out even though the weather was bad thank you

Beautifully appointed apartments. Quiet and easily accessible to town and the great walks of plakias. Apparently designed by an architect and it shows. We have stayed here a number of times now and it is by far our favourite. Rooms are good sizes and each has its own private garden. Small pool on roof.

Well situated apartments - quiet and only 5 minutes from the sea front. Comfortable 1 bedroom apartment (we had no. 7) with good facilities (lacked only a toaster). Tiny bathroom but adequate - plenty of hot water and storage. Extremely comfortable bed. Liked the idea of insect screens at the windows. Spacious south facing balcony with quality furniture & clothes drier. Well maintained and serviced by Mira. Roof top terrace with small pool was so relaxing and sheltered when the strong winds blew - amazing views towards the mountains and over the village? Enjoyed our 12 day stay very much indeed. Will definitely want to return to No. 7! Thank you.

Nous avons passez un excellent séjour chez Yannis et Anna, l’hôtel est très bien situé, proche du bord de mer et du centre à pied. Les chambres sont spacieuses, propres et les lits très confortables. Yannis est vraiment adorable et nous a très bien accueilli, il a de très bon conseil pour les visites et restaurants. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir et nous recommandons vivement cet hôtel. I chose this hotel after seeing the beautiful pictures of the rooms on Booking. Unfortunately, this photos have nothing to do with the reality. At Anna Plakias I found : - dirty room with old furniture - dirty bathroom, with traces of dirt on the toilet bowl - strong smell of sewage in the bathroom, strong smell of mold in the room (too bad that the smell can not be shown in the photos) - broken insect curtain, and probably that’s why I found a scorpion in the room (I have a video with this scorpion) There is no receptionist in this hotel, there is no manager, there is only a cleaning lady who does the cleaning. She is also a receptionist - probably that's why the cleaning isn’t done properly. I paid in advance according to the hotel policy. We were forced by the context to stay one night here (after we paid in advance for 5 nights). The owner did not want to give us a refund, despite the obvious evidence of dirt. Please see the pictures below, which show the dirt in this hotel. Basically the owner lied us with beautiful and unrealistic pictures (posted on booking), he took our money in advance and that was all. We were fooled, we were stolen, we paid for a room which looks beautiful and clean in pictures, but in reality is dirty, making impossible to stay. They offered us (by phone ) another room, but we didn't want to stay in such unsanitary conditions (offered by this hotel). I think that our pictures speak for themselves.

Booking was straight forward with clear and regular communication via email all questions we had were responded to by the team.We arrived later than expected due to a 4hr delay, We asked if a Taxi could be arranged for our transfer from Heraklion to Plakias (1.5hr journey) during our booking process, which was kindly done for us and communication was good and they were aware that we were delayed, the transfer was waiting for us after we had collected our luggage. Arriving at Plakias there was a note on the board indicating our room (number 4) this is a ground floor 2 rooms and bathroom with a small patio area outside. The room was clean and reasonably equipped, TV with hdmi port (should you wish to take firestick etc) relatively quick wifi. The room had a kettle, small fridge with ice compartment, small ring / grill combi oven, coffee machine , selection of pans etc iron and ironing board . The bathroom was ok which consisted of a relatively small but effective shower, toilet and a large basin also a good hairdryer. Nice sized bedroom with comfortable bed, sockets and bedside table each side of bed there was a double wardrobe with drawers which also contained a small (keyed )safe. The room was cleaned regularly and pool towels were provided. We used the roof top pool regularly and were grateful for its presence (Plakias can be a little windy at times which can lead to a sandblasting if on the beach) the pool is not suitable for swimming but certainly helps when your baking in the sun. Plenty of supermarkets close by as the appartments are literally a 5 min walk into town. Plakias is a great place but as mentioned can be extremely windy bear this in mind if you have walking issues etc, this wind (once used to it) is a blessing as it prevents you from getting to hot whilst walking about, plenty of really good tavernas in Plakias, we never had a bad meal at any of them Really enjoyed our two weeks here and wouldn't hesitate to rebook should we revisit Plakias again (which I'm sure we will be) Thankyou to all the team at Anna Plakias for providing us with a great comfortable appartment for our 2 two weeks, best wishes for the future :-)
