Killiecrankie House

Warmly welcomed, we enjoyed a drink in the lounge amongst vinyl. That sets the ambience of Killiecrankie; a warm welcome, vinyl playing and relaxing drink. The vibe is being in your best pals, thumbing through their record collection and enjoying a drink as your busy life slows right down. Our room was an oasis of calm. Some cocktail ingredients are housemade and exclusive to Killiecrankie; marmalade gin brought me right back to my grandmothers, the Smoked Ume Spritz’s brought us back to the famous smoked lobster by Andrew Fairlie. The meal by Tom, a delight from start to finish, fuelled with quality, taste and imagination, better than some Michelin restaurants we’ve been. Tom’s friendliness and how chefs worked as a team throughout serving put that extra sparkle on the dishes. I’ve ordered the wines and sakes since. After dinner, Tom spoke with all. Matilda and Tom display a laid back ability to host guests whilst serving superior food and drinks. That’s a natural talent. Breakfast was a treat. Tom and Matilda run a fabulous House for their guests. Attention to food, drinks, service, conversation and décor is amazing. Staff are as knowledgeable and attentive. Excellent tasting menu , amazing Scottish/ Japanese fusion . Textures like I’ve never tasted . The seaweed cone with salmon n salmon mousse a particular favourite . Lovely to chat with owner / chef after . Dining area allows watching chefs doing food prep .

What a fabulous find, this place is very special. The food is divine and Michelin star standard for sure. What makes it really special however is the relaxed unpretentious approach to fine dining. Tom and Mathilda are so welcoming, all their staff are extremely knowledgable, enthusiastic and proud of what they do. I my opinion it surpasses Gleneagles and Glenturret.

A truly special stay. We stayed at Killiecrankie House for 2 nights. Our room and the decor throughout were stunning. The food over the weekend was outstanding from breakfast, the tasting menu and accompanying non-alcoholic pairing, not to mention the hand picked playlists! So much thought has gone into every detail and was explained so well to us (shout out to our server Mollie!). The whole team are welcoming and accommodating. We would highly recommend and wish Tom, Matilda and the Killiecrankie House team all the success in the future!

Just outstanding. Could find absolutely nothing to complain about. Food amazing, and front of house experience just delightful. Tom & Matilda have combined to deliver a truly top drawer experience. Only a matter of time till their first Michelin star.

Excellent déjeuner,cuisine creative,précise,une merveille ! La carte des vins est courte mais excellente.Le service se déroule comme un ballet bien huilé depuis la cuisine ouverte.L’idée de faire servir les mignardises par tout le personnel de cuisine est vraiment sympathique. Le restaurant mérite une voire deux étoiles Michelin.Bravo pour cette émouvante expérience !
