Beautiful, modern, spacious room with every amenity you might need. This family-run estate is a true example of contemporary South African hospitality at its finest: premium yet unpretentious, very welcoming, great service and the highest level of culinary competence.

Beautiful accommodation, safe and comfortable. Amazing hosts… friendly, accommodating and welcoming. The restaurant and atmosphere blew us away! And the food was from a 5 star restaurant, excellent service and a top notch wine selection. Won’t stay anywhere else if we are in the area again.

The place is situated in a very great environment, safety is the best. The personnel working there are professional and great to be around, it really felt like home. Though the maintenance has to have a high response alert especially for those small adjustment which may dent the experience of the guests.

We were referred here from a friend who had just stayed. We needed a comfortable place to land prior to our return flight home. It was exactly what we needed. The room was very clean and comfortable to relax in for an afternoon. It was nice after a week of game reserve and travel. In the evening we had dinner in the living room. We had a beautiful table for two and the 7 course meal with wine pairing. It was delightful. We departed early for the airport and missed the breakfast but they ordered us a driver and had an early delicious breakfast for us before we left.

The Summerhill Guest House exceeded my expectations on all levels. The suite was very nice, bright, clean and spacious, I was greeted with fresh fruit and water. Fresh water was left in the room every day. The restaurant (The LivingRoom) is very beautiful, a great place to chill, relax, listen to good music and eat. The quality of the food and wine was excellent, I was lucky enough to try just about everything on the menu and I was not disappointed! The food and wine would not be out of place at any top quality restaurant. Summerhill manages to pull together all the essential elements of guest house, restaurant and a great team into an amazing experience. Everyone at the Summerhill guest house was extremely pleasant and went out of their way to be very helpful, they made my stay a truly excellent experience. I would especially like to mention Christine, Johannes, Johanna, Lungelo, Lacky and Simiso. Great work, hopefully I will see you again soon! Mike :0)

I decided to book overnight accommodation, as I was attending a birthday supper at their restaurant. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, with lovely fluffy comfortable pillows, crisp white linen and towels. I didn’t spend much time in the room but I did find it more than adequate for an overnight stay. The staff and owners made me feel welcome and at “home.” The food was out of this world, it was something that is so unique and totally different than anything I’ve ever experienced. The staff are well trained, every course was explained in detail so that we knew exactly what we were eating. I will be taking guests to experience this unique restaurant soon. It’s something one just can’t help raving about and returning to, over and over again. I appreciated the beautiful antique champagne glasses so much, they tell of the level of attention to detail I experienced. The next day the Breakfast too, was so special and unique, the tastes were fresh and true, one could taste that everything was served with care and attention to detail. Stunning doesn’t begin to describe the whole experience.

Our first time visiting this beautiful and unique place. We had the 7-course dinner and wine paring. It was unbelievable!!! Every course was so delicious with stunning presentations. The staff and owners were kind and thoughtful. We will go back on our next trip, and we will plan to stay longer.

We were massively disappointed by the hotel itself. The rooms were not well maintained. I felt that the furniture in the rooms was of poor quality. My friend's wheelchair accessible room was NOT accessible. The restaurant was EXCELLENT, the hotel very poor.
