"Sennen House is a beautiful, old home surrounded by a lovely garden on a quiet edge of the town of Picton. We very much enjoyed our room, our breakfast, the setting, and the peace and quiet. However, we are writing this review because of the extraordinary hospitality of the owners, Michelle and Stefan. Both went above and beyond the call of duty to assist us during our brief stay. Picton is a charming, waterside town, and it is the port of arrival for large ferry boats coming from Wellington and the North Island. We arrived on such a boat, but following our ships arrival at the Picton Ferry Terminal, we arrived at the baggage claim area only to discover that another passenger had walked off with our luggage. Michelle came to the terminal to greet us and to take us to her Bed & Breakfast even though we had not requested that, and Michelle then patiently waited with us at the Terminal until the wayward passenger with our luggage could be tracked down, and the luggage returned to us. Not only did Michelle support us throughout our mini-crisis, but because one of us had a severely sprained ankle, and we were traveling without a car, Stefan was kind enough to drive us to a restaurant for dinner, so we wouldn't have to walk. As if those extremely kind gestures weren't enough, Michelle even drove us on the day of our departure to the train depot. The owners had family visiting and many other time consuming responsibilities during our stay, so for them to so graciously accommodate us showed exceptional character and generosity. If Sennen House is within your means, we can't imagine why visitors to Picton would want to lodge with anyone else."

"I thought it was pretty good. I think I booked an executive room, which had a balcony and plenty of hot water in the shower. It's located on a section of the main street. There aren't many travel guides for Picton online, so I scouted it out for you. This motel is next to a gas station and across the street from a large supermarket. The room has a kitchen. It's a 10-minute walk to the Intercity bus station, which is next to the train and ferry terminals, so it's really close. Also, the beach is less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel. There are various activities available for registration at the beach; you don't need to book online, just walk in and inquire—the price is the same. There's a Thai restaurant not far from the hotel. Picton is beautiful. We came here to take the train, and it's definitely worth it. This is a wine region; remember to buy a bottle and try it."

"I chose this hotel so I could catch the early morning ferry to the North Island; it's a five-minute drive from the ferry terminal."

"Very clean and tidy small hotel with convenient parking. It only takes a few minutes to walk from the Picton Ferry Terminal. I regret not staying one more night because I was not familiar with it and did not have time to walk the nearby coastal greenway."

"Incredible hospitality from the owner, Shearer and her husband. We were there on New Year's Eve and after we returned post the midnight fireworks, she laid on a spread and some drinks for all the guests. Beds were comfy and facilities were very good. Great stay and excellent value for money."
