"Beautiful location. Rustic. Clean. Spacious room. With both a bedroom and large sitting room. Our room was ocean facing. Listened to the sound of crashing waves and gentle blowing breeze at night. Very quiet with windows shut. We ate at the restaurant 2 evenings and had great meals and desserts. Great mattresses. Nice hot shower. Good breakfast. Overall quiet."

"I was a little disappointed that this is not, in fact, a hotel. I think I might have been the only person staying there, I didn't see anyone else except for about 2 seconds in the breakfast room. The only contact I had was by email, and all the instructions were only sent the morning I was traveling, so I didn't receive them until I got to Pico. The room was comfortable enough and very clean. But lots of things are dated. The internet was non-existent. The air conditioner and bathroom fan were both ancient and made a lot of noise. The breakfast was only meh, but the view from the breakfast room was lovely. The location is good, close to town and in a quiet area. I didn't spend much time at the hotel and it was too cold for a swim, but I imagine that would be great when the weather is warmer as the pool also has an amazing view. It's worth it for the price."

"Let's be honest here. No air conditioning, which makes it very difficult to sleep. The room was dirty and stinky (humidity from the bathroom), with cockroache. Breakfast was supposed to be available for 10 euros, but the host himself admits he doesn't like/want to prepare it (too complicated...). The space available in the common fridge is really tiny (you can't store any proper food for cooking). And last, we couldn't take any shower in the early morning (before going to Mount Pico), as the water was cut at night...We give it 1 "star" only because 0 does not exist"

The minute I called this hotel, I was greeted by the kindest woman who really took the time to listen to a few questions that I had. She told me they would call me when the room would be ready the following day, so we could possibly check in a little early. And that is exactly what she did. When we arrived, they were all so welcoming! And the cabin! impeccable! Cozy! Clean! We climbed Mt. Pico one day, and it was so nice to return to a place that felt like home. The cabins are so well maintained, they really make you feel like you are taken care of. Don't hesitate to stay here; there is no better value, welcoming people or comfort in the area!"

Apart from a very nice high end property, Ana took care of me, and my expectations from this vacation. She know everything in the Island by heart. She is generous, kind and smiley! I stayed extra 6 nights because of her welcoming approach!"

"Our stay was amazing! The location of Alma do Pico is great. Just outside of Madalena and super central for all activities on Pico! The staff is amazing and they offer so many nice recommendations. At the reception they have a board with all activities and the best restaurants and opening times. The restaurant at the hotel, Atmosfera, is amazing and serves homemade pasta and beautiful wines. It’s run by a family and they also cater the breakfast at the cabins. You can adjust the breakfast to your own needs but it’s already amazing as it is. Big compliments to the entire restaurant team as they made us feel so welcome!"

"Booked a 10 day tour visiting 4 different Azore islands with a tour company. The tour company must have received a very cheap rate from the owner of 35th Atlantic Ave because this place is awful. We had room # 8 and our friends had room # 9. The mattresses in both rooms were hard as cement. The sliding glass door in room # 8 would not lock/secure. The included breakfast consisted of bread, cold cut ham and cheese, apple, orange, yogurt, two cereals and warm milk. Nothing hot like Eggs or Bacon or oatmeal. We decided to check out two days early and move to a location that had better reviews on TripAdvisor. Naturally after contacting our tour company we were informed the owners of 35th Atlantic Avenue refused to refund the 2 unused nights. The owners don’t care about the customer as they haven’t responded to any reviews that have been previously submitted. Buyer beware."

"Olin hieman pettynyt, että tämä ei oikeastaan ole hotelli. Luulen, että olisin voinut olla ainoa siellä, en nähnyt ketään muuta paitsi noin kaksi sekuntia aamiaisessa huoneessa. Ainoa yhteystieto oli sähköpostitse, ja kaikki ohjeet lähetettiin vasta aamulla matkustaessani, joten en saanut niitä ennen kuin pääsin Picoon. Huone oli mukava ja hyvin puhdas. Mutta paljon asioita on päivätty. Internet ei ollut olemassa. Ilmastointi ja kylpyhuone fani olivat sekä antiikki ja teki paljon melua. Aamiainen oli vain meh, mutta näkymä aamiaisesta oli kaunis. Sijainti on hyvä, lähellä kaupunkia ja hiljaisella alueella. En viettänyt paljon aikaa hotellissa ja se oli liian kylmä uimaan, mutta se olisi hienoa, kun sää on lämpimämpi, koska uima-allas on myös hämmästyttävä näkymä. Se on sen arvoinen hinta."
