Not a bad place, overpriced though and no restaurant so no lunch or dinner, over a kilometre walk to any shops and not an easy walk back, all uphill. No swimming pool or spa, empty and not maintained.
They offer free rides into town and back and the views are great and free airport transfers .

Reading other reviews I am not sure what people expect sometimes . This is an old, dated 2 star hotel . It doesn’t claim to be anything other than that . The rooms were basic but comfortable. The bathrooms were dated but clean and functional. Breakfast was simple but plentiful . Dinner was the same . If you are going to the Plain of Jars then stay here

There’s nothing that really stands out about this hotel… except for the young man at reception who efficiently, politely and promptly dealt with my problem with the room safe and then a problem with a blocked loo. (The latter requiring a room move to one just along the corridor. He was great! Other than that it’s a hotel that does the job of receiving, feeding and sending guests on their way with a minimum of fuss. We ate out on the first evening and in the restaurant the second. Food was fine as was breakfast. No idea how it compares with others in time… good enough for me

the rooms are big! the restaurant good, breakfast just fine, shuttle to town, if you need it. clean, some nice artworks on display. it needs a bit of paint and pressure water clean. however I have the feeling the longer you stayed here the better you would enjoy it

Rooms lit only by cold glaring fluorescent lights. Property has great views, but is near to nothing. Individual hot water heaters in rooms not sufficient for showers. Restaurant food is mediocre, and restaurant not always open when expected to be.
Attentive staff, but that plus good views aren't enough.

Lovely place to stay.
I arrived very late at night (2300). I tried to call the hotel to let them know but was unable to contact the hotel - the phone number wasn’t correct, so when I arrived the gate was closed. Apparently, you could slide the big gate open but I didn’t know that. When I did get in (a local person phoned the hotel), the staff were very nice and checkin was easy despite little English being spoken.
The suite was huge with a full lounge, a huge bedroom, bathroom and a kitchen/storage area. Everything worked and was very clean. Very comfortable. The view from the patio of room 01 was fabulous. The hotel was quiet,
Breakfast was good and varied and fresh. The staff were extremely helpful and always professional and polite.
They have a shuttle bus that took me to and from a museum (MAG office - google it - so interesting).
Despite the initial arrival issues, I would stay here again and wish I’d had more time here.

Very friendly staff. Our room was large with a private balcony- every thing was clean. Minibar with a selection of sodas and beerlao. The beds were very hard - hard indeed. One morning breakfast buffet - there’s an egg station and some Lao options. We had better - and worse other places

The hotel has a lovely location, with view over small farms and houses to the hills beyond. It is a motel style hotel, semidetached chalet style rooms & suites. Our suite was clean & had lounge, balcony (to watch the sunset), bedroom with a large kingsize bed, tea area & ensuite shower room. Our stay was very pleasant, sad it was only for one night. Breakfast was included (the baguettes were excellent) & the hotel has an evening restaurant, where we enjoyed three Lao dishes, steamed rice and BeerLao. Lovely staff, pleased to help with any request.
