Motel 6 Phoenix, AZ – Sky Harbor

We needed an airport hotel and we had Hilton Honors points to stay so I settled on this one. I really didn't investigate it that carefully as I was going for just a place to stay. Perhaps I should have looked into it more. This place is very old looking. The decor is old, the layout looks like something from a family vacation I was on in the 1970s. The bedroom didn't have closets, but rather two big wardrobes, which was a choice. When you enter the room, the door shuts behind you and the curtains black out the room completely (which is good to keep the heat out), but it's a bit disconcerting until you find the light switch. It's not the most scenic neighborhood of Phoenix, but it could be worse. We felt safe at the hotel although we didn't venture out much. The free breakfast was very nice and the chef cooking the hot breakfast was really nice. The front desk staff was nice. I had hoped we could get a late checkout as we had a late flight and it was a very hot day in Phoenix, but we were told we had to get out at 11. Although it probably took a bit to get the room straightened out because the door latch snapped off as we walked into the room after breakfast. (The deadbolt lock was fine.) Personally, I wouldn't spend money to stay here, but for a free night, it was fine if you didn't expect much and enjoy retro furniture. (With the exception of one fancy Herman Miller chair which looked really out of place.)

We often stay at hilton properties, however this has to be the least favorite as it could use a litttle updating and exterior cleanliness. The rooms as well as the property overall were in fheir original state. The bed.creaked and the room wreaked of humidity or moldy smell. Again. Ot.my favorite hilton property.

The property is in a bad shape and honestly an embarrassment to Hilton especially Embassy suites Brand . It houses permanent residents with addiction and homelessness issues . One doesn’t feel safe at this property at all . The staff is good but that doesn’t help . We had just one night transit sleep over but we hardly slept because of weird noises from about the room besides the linens were clearly dirty and stained . Don’t even think about booking here .

Great and friendly staff and very clean

Loud, inconsiderate people Unsupervised Kids screaming all day in pool. Same kids running and screaming in breakfast area. Signs in pool area say no bottles, food, or alcohol but several groups of people sitting around with all 3. No enforcement at all making pool impossible to enjoy my entire stay.
