The property is beautiful, and the staff helpful and friendly, but, they really should provide full disclosure. We stayed at this property for a wedding, as the wedding planners recommended it. We checked in, and found the process easy enough, and our room was ready early. We travel often and usually only use our room for sleeping. So we dropped our belongings, and went out. When we returned for the night, we noticed something very unusual, at least for us. Creaking. Yes, creaking, like what you'd expect in an old wooden house, or like you see in ******* houses in the movies. It was very disturbing to me, as I'm a light sleeper. In the morning, I went downstairs to ask if we could change rooms, but, were told they were sold out, they never asked why, so I decided to mention my issue to a desk clerk, who really wasn't listening, and just said, sorry we're sold out. We spent our second night, and it was much worse. I actually took a video so I could show any interested party how strange it was. After our second night, we went to check out. I explained the noise situation to the clerk, who was not the same clerk I had talked with previously. When I told him about the creaking, I wasn't really sure he was listening to me, or being rude. Turns out, he was listening, and not being rude. So I said, have you ever heard of this before. To my astonishment, he said, yes, often. As a matter of fact, the owners of the property have a lawsuit pending against the builders because of it. I was absolutely shocked and asked, don't you think you should let people know about this? I didn't get much sleep the two nights we stayed there. He said, that's not my responsibility. Well, apparently it's no one's responsibility and I'll never stay at this property again, and I don't recommend it if you are a light sleeper. Since Marriott is okay with this non disclosure, I think I'll give Marriott a rest too. For the price paid for the two nights at this location, I should have been able to get some restful sleep, but apparently, that's not included in the Marriott promise.
