Tsokkos Gardens Hotel

Excellent, nice to be back home and to see old and new friends, especially Angela and Yiannakis, Loulla and Boris, and to see the lovely island.

The hotel is a small paradise, very beautiful, very nice rooms, clean, always very good service, the pool is very nice, always clean, the cuisine is very delicious, the service in the restaurant is incredible, the reception is always responsive. I recommend it for everything.

Everything about the hotel is great but the hotel next door spoilt our weekends we are family and the said music was horrendous until 3 am not good for kids trying to sleep

I visited this hotel at the end of August 25 with my wife and young son. I was half board for the 2 week stay. 1. Most significant thing was room 441. I was woken up 1st morning to a strange loud noise around 7am. It sounded like machinery or something being dragged above my head. I informed staff after 2 days and they laughed at me saying there was nothing above the 4th floor. This noise was all day and in the end I believe it was the service lift for the staff. I don't believe they didn't know about this as it was so loud!! We eventually moved a floor below (where I could still faintly hear it!). So watch out out for 441!!!! 2. Cleaners. If the above noise didn't wake you then the cleaners will. Banging doors and shouting from 8am!!! Why is there a need to shout conversations down corridors 1st thing in the morning?? Also corridors smell strongly of cigarettes as you can see them having a smoke in their utility room near your room with door open? I found all of this really rude. You come on holiday for a lie in (some of us get up at 5am and don't scream conversations to wake up street). The cleaners also were rude enough to start forcing there way past us to clean 441 when we were attempting to move rooms even though I asked for 5 mins. 3. Food - a big positive. Good i thought. Plenty of variety. Different themed nights. Breakfast was hard work. Very tight spaces to move and crowded. Doesn't help when guests have no spatial awareness!!! Plates often run out, which means you have to wait. 4. Drinks beer ok. Expensive for half boarders! 4.60 euro and no offers or happy hours which meant I was not staying in. 5. Pool area. Was a scrap for beds every morning. Always find something after a hunt but plenty of people clearly reserving at midnight. Lots of signs telling people not to do so but I don't know why the staff just don't round up the towels at 7am and chuck them in a box. Pool was like a warm bath and very nice. However very much for families jumping around and not relaxing. 6. Entertainment - no incentive to stay being half board however from passing through i didn't look like I was missing anything. During the day not much. There is a top animation lad who does 30 mins football and water polo every other day. He was good but that was it during the day. Not much holiday feeling vibe as I have on other holidays. With the standard random UK music played from a speaker in a corner. 7. Staff - some ok - i found friendly some rude - bit of a mix. The lad with dreadlocks in the dining room was nice. 8. Hotel next door. Ridiculous noise from there all day till 2am. Mind if you were it sounded like a better vibe and atmosphere. Overall - it wasn't the worst. It was clean but looked dated. Apart from the pool which was nice just felt like sun loungers had been thrown into a large yard with a big speaker in the corner. The rooms are small but air con is really good. I would describe it as a budget hotel and fits basic needs.

In total experiance here was great. My reccomendation. Only thing to comment is that most of services are adjusted to Britan tourists and that some of services are additinaly paid ( like wifi) Rooms - very clean and large with cleaning every day. Bathroom also large with new towels every morning and shampoos. Only thing is that power plug ins are for devices from britan regions but you can take adapter on reception for deposit of 5 euros. Food - really fine. Dinners are diverse with different theme every night (greece, cypriot, asinn foos etc). Breakfasts are mostly the same but with lots of different dishes so you can combine. Pool - big and clean. Unfortunatly u need to come around 8 am to grab your sun bad ( after 8am most of sun bads are taken). Beach - nearest beach is around 300m from hotel (potami beach). However this beach is small and not so causy. From other side aroind 1km from Potami beach are othere very nice beaches with posibility to take sun bads and umbrella ( 2.5 eur each). Hotel service - perfect. Guys and girls in restoran are really kind ( esspecially guy who is making omlets and 1 guy Patrik from Congo 😊). Cleaning ladies are also really profeaional. Hotel service and peace - any additional service needs to be payed (wifi, power adapters, even case lockers). That sucks. Also in hotel is very peacefull ( no music no anoying guests). However hotel across had terrible karaoke night every night during our stay (from 9 to 11pm) which was really anoying.

This hotel gets such mixed reviews, but honestly, for a 3 star rated hotel and a cheap last minute break, this met our expectations. The pool area was great, yes, reserving beds at 6am was a nightmare and this needs addressing, but the pool and surrounding area was fine. The hotel was clean, housekeeping was fine and all staff work very hard and are pleasant (with a few exceptions!). Rooms are small but we just about managed for a week. We would stay in the apartments next time. We didn’t go AI so eat out mostly, but the food looked ok. Also, a great base to travel around the island and the local area had some great bars and restaurants. As a family, we had a great break and would travel back again, although we would only use as a base.
