My husband and I have recently returned from a 4 night stay at this beautiful retreat and already cannot stop talking about returning. The owner, Saša, is such a wonderful host and instantly makes you feel at home; we were showed around the property on arrival,.introduced to the staff and were even offered a welcome drink to share with him at the bar. I appreciate all of the details that have gone in to renovating the property - from the stunning infinity pool, the detail in the bathrooms (I've never looked forward to a shower so much!) and the way the traditional and historic aspects of the building have been celebrated, for example the stone walls. The staff could not do enough for you and are so warm and friendly - its genuine and not at all 'put on'. The level of service is second to none and we enjoyed getting to know them throughout our stay. We also got on very well with another couple staying at the property - this is the great thing about staying at such a small, personal retreat such as this. We already had an itinerary planned but needn't have gone to such detail as Saša had so many great suggestions and offered to help us sort certain things out if we needed it. We weren't able to fit in a winery trip but next time we will definitely be sorting this with him. He also recommend local restaurants and places of interest. The chef, Nikolai, prepared a seafood platter for us on the first night and it was sensational! Seared tuna was divine, as was the squid and sea bream... everything on the plate. Oh, and I'd also like to mention that Christian makes a cracking gin & tonic! We sank a fair few of these on our trip. He always has a smile on his face, great to chat to and really made our day. We actually had to reschedule our trip from May to July - due to bad weather in the area and also due to a knee injury of mine (I'd read about the steps in Perast prior to arrival - yes there are quite a few!) When we rescheduled the room we originally booked was not available, so we ended up having the smallest room as it was the only one available. I was worried we could be short on space but I've got to say it was such a lovely room and I would not hesitate to book this one again. Very cosy and inviting. The shutters opened out onto a view of the town below, the bay and the church. Bathroom was brilliant - the shower had many different settings and it was like a mini spa almost! Rainfall showers every day were a treat. Double sinks. Wardrobe space was great too as this is something usually lacking in many hotels and we don't pack light. Bed was very comfortable, multiple pillows and robes and slippers provided. What Sasha has created here is something truly special - and is unlike anywhere we have stayed previously. It is very much a retreat as the name would suggest and not just a hotel. We've never had an experience like this, and we've stayed at many boutique hotels on our travels. This just tops the mark in every way. It's much mor
