This hotel is very near the train tracks, so it may be a problem if you're a light sleeper. When I checked in, it was very hot in the lobby - no A/C here. The clerk wanted to scan my driver's license, which I refused to allow. He said that all hotels have this practice (NOT true). I did allow him to take the number after he cleared it with someone whom he called. The room was adequate - no frills, for sure. No tub, only a shower. The TV didn't work - he said that someone had 'stolen the cable', so he got another from somewhere. During the night, I could hear children in the hallway. The room beside me had several pairs of shoes in the hallway near the door. I think that some people stay in this hotel on a permanent basis.

I have been visiting Parry Sound for years and have just landed on this quaint hotel. If you just need a clean place to lay your head this hotel fits the bill. Great downtown location and half the price of the fancy upscale hotels. It’s a little outdated, but Tony and his staff made sure that we got everything as advertised, including Wi-Fi, TV, and microwave. Maid service and fresh towels and toiletries were on a par with any other hotel. We will be back in Parry Sound next winter and the midtown will definitely be our first choice to stay.
