"All the reviews are true, but it’s not the wooden building that causes it.  Yes, it is very loud and you hear everyone. We’ve stayed in other fully wooden places, it’s worse here. Maybe not the wood but the guests are the problem. Loud Chinese people, walking the stairs with the heaviest pace you can imagine. Maybe help the other guests by hanging some warnings on the stairs: please be mindful for the other guests when walking to your room.  Also loud Chinese tourist on the square below. Not only while eating they scream all over the place, also with the tea ceremony nobody asks them to please stop talking after 23:00/24:00. We were up till 02:00AM because of tea drinking Chinese people at the fire. We stayed in the suite, which is located above the fire pit. Maybe the other rooms are less noisy. At 7AM each morning, somebody ran down the stairs. We think it’s the staff. It wakes you up through your earplugs.  The staff is OK. They are very shy, not rude. They could be more pro active though as we didn’t feel like they wanted to do something.. which is different to rude but also not very friendly.  The other villages around are way bigger and less cozy than Wengji. Also, with this guesthouse being just next to the town, it was perfect to escape the tourists most of the time. We didn’t find other accommodations in Wengji with the same aesthetics as Shishi guesthouse so we can’t recommend other places better than this. Maybe if the guesthouse would invest in trying to keep the noise down under the various guests, with text signs or with clearer house rules (fire pit), the noise problem wouldn’t be as bad.  Maybe if they tried to enthusiast their staff more and keep them from watching Chinese drama shows on their phones all day, they would be a bit more welcoming.  We’ve met a lot of amazing people in Wengji, it’s definitely not the locals that have this behaviour.  Lastly, the suite has a cubicle bathroom in the room, they really don’t clean this well. It smells very bad and just feels dirty all over.  For comfort this place is too expensive, for the location and aesthetics you won’t find better options nearby."

"Out of expectation!! Jingmai mountain is not yet well developed as a tourist destination (which makes it more original and peaceful too). So I didn’t expect anything like Xiangongjia - the hotel is well furnished and designed with professional hotel management. The local owner is very friendly too and organised the fire dance on our first night. The restaurant in the hotel is incredible too - tasty and clean - a level I had never expected just in my hotel and not even in this less developed tourist destination - so we spend 2 nights here - so continent when it is less dangerous drive during night time in mountain area. The manager also helped me to prepare a bday cake for my friend and made tea for us. And thanks for sharing your and this hotel’s story. If you have the budget, this is definitely your best choice."

"Very friendly owners who invited us to drink tea and chat. Owner is from the local Dai nationality and shared with us about their culture. Rooms had breathtaking views of the mountains and clouds. Room was clean although bathroom floor was quite wet throughout."

"A great B&B with an amazing view from the lobby and from the room. The room was fully equipped and clean. The staff was very kind and helpful! In the lobby there is always good tea and you can also buy the tea. I spent a great time here so this is definitely a strong recommendation. Also the location in Wengji is a great starting point to explore Jingmaishan. I feel compared to the other villages Wengji provides the best feeling of authenticity while also having all the commercial amenities that you need during your stay. Furthermore, it is located quite central in Jingmaishan so that the different corners can be explored easily day by day."

"沒想到老寨子居然有這樣住宿舒適的，老闆給我們泡各種茶，跟我們一起烤火，烤紅薯，奶罐，方便麪，都是免費提供，茶台上所有好吃的都讓遊客隨便吃，離古寨最近的，抬腿就到，提供炊具，可以自己埋鍋造飯，每次出遊，選擇民宿是個大事情，慶幸這次又成功找到性價比超高的，感謝🙏🏻老闆，估計換個季節還會來，肯定還是這，沒呆夠。"
