"I don’t give a five star easy but this time the combination of hospitality, the rooms, the building and location made me give this review (and I visit around 50 hotels in a yearly basis around the world). The hotel is located in a colonial style building which is very nicely renovated. The location is great and it takes only a few minutes to walk to the old town of Paraty. The rooms are not too big but the layout is very good. The beds are comfortable and the shower is warm and provides a lot of water. Breakfast is in a nice open location in the hotel and there’s a lot to choose from."

"The Pousada Valochouto in Paraty immediately strikes you with its excellent location, ideal for visiting the historic center and getting around easily on foot without the need for public transportation. Another very positive aspect is the spacious and comfortable room size, significantly above average for this type of accommodation. Also noteworthy is the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, always friendly and ready to offer helpful advice, as well as the beautiful, well-maintained and sunny pool, perfect for relaxing during the hottest hours of the day. Among the less convincing aspects, breakfast is served only from 8 a.m. onwards, which is a bit late, especially for those with excursions or early departures. Furthermore, although the room has a window, it is not enclosed by glass but only by wooden paneling, a detail that makes the room quite noisy and can affect the quality of your sleep. Overall, a pleasant property for its location and hospitality, but with some areas for improvement."

"Vaikka hieman kaukana päähistoriallisen keskustan Paraty, meillä oli erittäin mukavaa olla tässä hyvin hallinnoitu ja ilmeisesti viime aikoina uudistettu pousada. Uima-allas on erittäin mukava, ja lattia on hyvin ylläpidetty ja ihana iltaisin. Aamiaiset ovat, vaikka eivät ole yhtä laaja kuin iso hotelli, tietenkin hyvin valmistettu monilla vaihtoehdoilla. Lisäksi yleisesti hyvät merkit vieraanvaraisuutta henkilöstön yleisesti, Alice erityisesti oli niin miellyttävä henkilö. Me todella tunsimme, että hän teki koko kokemuksen vielä kauniimmin, hänen suosituksistaan eri matkailutoimintoja tai ravintoloita, hänen hämmästyttävä tapioka aamulla! Olemme varmasti odottaneet palaavan pian!"

Marineide's drinks were sensational, served by the pool; I must add that she is a super helpful and loving person. Suggestion 😁 put a full-length mirror in the room ☀️"
