Fodele Beach Water Park Resort

We went to Fodele for my 50th birthday and it was wonderful! The seafront rooms were gorgeous, the grounds all look very modern, and the views were stunning. I love waterslides and they were so much fun! Pools are nice, and the beach is spectacular. Only drawbacks: the à la carte dining. The buffet actually tasted better than the à la carte, particularly the Italian restaurant. And sadly, the Greek restaurant forgot to bring us cake or do anything for my birthday as my husband had arranged. Still, overall, a very nice resort. Would recommend.

Logement assez grand, par contre une seule chambre dans le logement alors que l'intitulé en stipulait 2, la deuxième étant en fait le salon (donc non cloisonnée). En ce qui concerne le ménage, les serviettes de toilette sont repliées mouillées et remises sur les étagères ainsi que les tapis de bain quand il y en a. Buffet très bien, très varié.

The best vacation we have ever had.

OK Overall Crete was the third stop on our trip and we were so excited to check out this amazing waterpark resort overlooking the Aegean Sea. Overall the resort is ok. Things we loved: Staff was very friendly and helpful, Room was big and loved having 2 bathrooms, Waterpark was very fun, Beach was beautiful and the views even better. Loved the daily entertainment, we have never laughed harder than we did at the resort comedy show. Quick taxi ride from the Ferry Port or Airport. Things we wish were different: It is an All-inclusive that is mostly self service, you serve yourself everywhere you go, have to get your own food, your own drinks, no towel, drink or food service at the beach or the pools. Felt like a self service resort which was very odd to us for a 5-star hotel . Food was the same everyday and got very boring very quickly, reservations for the only 2 other restaurants were very inconvenient and difficult to make, plus wines were not included in the restaurant reservations. The enormity of the resort also makes it a bit exhausting to go from one end to the other.

Not a 5 star hotel; not good value This definitely isn’t a 5 star hotel, though we a good time and there positives: -The room feels new and is a decent size but balcony is small. Cleaning is OK -The food is great -Alcohol is really good from the main bars in the evening (premium brands, good selection) -The beach and waterpark are great -The staff are friendly BUT, there are many things that we’ve never experienced at a 5 star hotel and that would stop us staying again : - The swimming pool isn’t big enough for the number of guests; lots of people were arguing with reception about it. The sun loungers are crammed in next to each other and you can’t get them most of the time - it resembles a 3 star hotel in Benidorm. (the beach is better and we paid €30 for a cabana most days to have a good spot) -There is no drinks service by the pool or, more importantly, in any of the restaurants. If you want water at breakfast, wine at dinner, or a juice for your child, you have to go and queue for someone to serve you. They do bring water to your table at dinner but the staff are too busy and sometimes miss you. I’ve never known this in a 5, or even 4 star hotel. It's attrotious -There are lots of extra charges such as for ice cream or cocktails on the beach -There is no iron in the room and no way of getting one. Again, We’ve never known this in an hotel, let alone 5 star Overall, our child loves it but we wouldn’t stay again and don’t think it is good value for money (€400 a night)

Na jaren van Turkije dit jaar beslist eens naar Kreta op reis te gaan. Wij hadden een namiddag vlucht . Het is wel eventjes op de bus zitten om tot aan je hotel te raken. S'avonds aangekomen en opgemerkt dat er heel weinig voor laat toekomende toeristen is voorzien. Amper wat eten. Wij hadden twee flamingo kamers genomen en die zijn echt wel mooi ingericht. totaal niks op aan te merken. minibar wordt elke dag bijgevuld, grondig gepoetst. top ! Wij lagen helemaal bovenaan op de berg waar vele kamers zich bevinden en waar ook het mooie en uitgebreide waterpark zich bevind. Bij het waterpark is er geen race tegen de klok en andere mensen voor een bedje aangezien het ook maar open gaat om 10 uur. Aan het groot zwembad is dat wel degelijk het geval. na 8 uur kan je het vergeten. Je kan vanuit de lobby en/of resto kiezen om elke keer de 240 trappen ! te trotseren of je laten naar boven brengen met het treintje dat er rond rijd. let wel , enkel tot 17 uur. Nadien moet je een van golfkarretjesbestuurders aanspreken om je naar boven te brengen ! Maw. de ligging van de kamers op een zeer steile berg is het grootste nadeel van dit hotel. Wat het eten betreft, en voor onze familie het belangrijkste aspect kunnen wij alleen maar zeggen, fantastisch ! het is allemaal wat kleinschaliger dan in de Turkse resorts die wij bezocht hebben maar alles is bij fodele verfijnder. zeer veel afwisseling, met thema's . aan het resto bij de glijbanen is het wel wat minder maar zeker niet slecht. wat ons ook opviel, de cocktails zijn hier veel beter dan in turkije, gemaakt met de echte merken en geen namaak en met verstand van hoe ze te maken ! top Besluit. Kom hier met een gerust hart naartoe met je kids, ze gaan zich kunnen uitleven . voor oudere mensen en voor deze slecht te been , zoek iets anders.
