First time in "Pana" with my wife and three kids. I came before only once as a kid. The rooms were clean, the two rooms allowed the kids to stay together watching TV at night. Cable TV with even more channels that at my home. The kids loved that their favorite restaurant is very near, so in the afternoon we wen´t to "Pollo Campero" to drink some coffee, just in front of "Calle Santander", the main street at "Pana". The food at the restaurant inside the hotel was delicious too. In the next morning we wen´t to the reception for some ice creams and when we were going back to the room at the back of the hotel where there is no noise during night, there was one pretty squirrel that literally screamed at us, wen´t down one branch and moved in our direction, first time I hear how a squirrel "talks". A few minutes later a heard like someone was knocking at our window, and when I lifted the courtain there was the squirrel again, this time with an avocado in his hands, she stared at me like saying something I didn´t undertand. Now I think she wanted a deal, her avocado in exchange of my ice cream, no doubt. They have lots of avocados at the garden, but not that easy to get ice cream. Maybe the guests before me usually feed the squirrels. That squirrel made the trip unforgettable. Don´t forget to visit "Reserva Natural Atitlán" and buy a baby Monarch butterfly, it is so magical to watch their very first flight at your own home 8-10 days later. Best ground coffe I found was at "Cafe Loco", at the beginning of Santander street.
